  1. Does anyone still make a big stick for a Para 38 super open gun? I have one of the big sticks that STI used to make for the Para, but I cannot find another one. Does any body have any ideas if they are still available?
  2. On my old open gun I ran a Smoking Hole extended mag release. I really enjoyed using their bolt on extension. I now have a new open gun and I assume that Smoking Hole is no more since I cannot find any information about them or their products on the web. Does anyone have any information about them? Would anyone happen to have a extra one laying around that they would like to part with? Now I need to get a bolt on extension for my new gun. So what extended mag release do you use and like and would recommend? I shot my first match today with the new gun and it was difficult to do reloads with a standard mag release so I will have to find one soon.
  3. I have been trying to get on their web site today with no luck. I have tried IE7 and also Mozilla.
  4. Thanks for all of the advice. Another question. How much room is needed to mount a 650 with a case feeder? How much surface area is needed to account for the case feeder hanging on it? Thanks.
  5. On my 650 it mounts through the crimping dye.
  6. That is just wrong. I am green with envy. That is a very nice setup you have there. Maybe some day I will get to have a place that nice.
  7. I am trying to build a new reloading bench in a walk in closet. My wife took over my doghouse for her hobby. It will be a L shaped bench. 43 1/2 X 61 1/2 along the back side of the bench. My question is how deep should I make the surface? I was thinking 2 foot, but that really cuts a lot of room out of the area that I have. I am trying to use this space for a Dillon 650 with case feeder, a Square Deal B and a RCBS Rock Chucker single stage press plus a powder dispenser and scale. What kind of depth should I use to achieve the maximum use of this space? I reload for IPSC and also High Power shooting, plus just recreational shooting. So I need to be flexible with the bench use.
  8. I have a small Dillon tumbler. Not sure of the age, but I am pretty sure that it is a teenager at this time. I have never had a problem with it. I even keep it in a shed outside so my wife does not get upset about the "noise". The handle on the media seperator is rusted, but the tumbler works perfect.
  9. Thanks for all of the advice. I have passed this information on to my friend. He is going to call around and see what he wants to do and how much it is going to cost him to get it done.
  10. I have a friend that lives in southern Indiana. He inherited his uncles Hi-power. He would like to get some work done on it. He wants a new safety, he says that the one on the gun is very small. He is also thinking about changing the sights. Does anyone make a adjustable sight for the Hi-power? Any gunsmith recommendations would be appreciated.
  11. I agree. I lost my Mother March 23, 1994. I believe that She hung on long enough to see her son get married. She passed on less than a month after I got married.
  12. Some people have way too much time on their hands.
  13. I have shot Starline for years in 38 Super. You will usually loose it before it wears out. I shot Starline brass before the power factor went down also with no problems.
  14. I would love to take another Caribbean cruise. My wife and I are saving to go on a Alaskan cruise next year for our anniversary.
  15. Put up a wall with a port and some vision barriers. Make T1-T4 only visible from the left of the wall, T9 and steel through a port and T5-T8 around the right side of the wall and this becomes a legal stage.
  16. I love shooting my FAL against all those AR15's. I have not had any problems and it will shoot almost anything. As far as brass life, I have had more case failures in my M1A than I ever have had in my FAL.
  17. This is why most written stage descriptions clearly state that handgun may not be propped up with any artificial means.

    Awareness

I just got my copy of Brian's book from the store here. I am trying to make sure that I have personal time to read it with no interuptions. I really have to concentrate so that I can try and absorb as much as possible. I hope to post later about how much it helped me.
  19. I shoot a bone stock 226 on the rare occasion that I shoot production. It does have a long double action pull, but I just enjoy shooting my 226.
  20. I would have to agree with this not being a legal stage. I think they would be better off having a small shooting box and a wide wall so that you had to lean out far enough that you had to shoot it one handed. I guess that these courses were not approved by the USPSA. The whole match looks like fun though. Unfortunatly I will not be able to shoot this match due to previous commitments.
  21. Let us know how your first USPSA match goes. Welcome aboard.
  22. "clicked on the wrong box online". That is a good excuse. I just do not think it would work for me. My wife would make me call and return it because I made a mistake.
  23. Using zip code on USPSA web site it looks like the closest match would be 44 miles away. A total of three clubs show to be within 90 miles.
  24. +1 It seems like the week is great and then the weekend gets nasty. The weather will get better the closer to summer it gets.
  25. It is a game. If you don't like their rules, then don't shoot their game. It really is simple, if it is against the rules and you did it, then it is cheating. Then again it is a stupid rule in my opinion. You know what they say about opinions though.
