  1. That is too funny. Guess they better bone up on their ship identifying classes.
  2. I do the same type drill with my revolver. Except that I load blanks, 38's and 357 magnums. It really helps with flinching and pulling.
  3. I found Walmart could meet or beat most online prices. Plus you can go online and have them sent to the store and not have to pay shipping or wait for them to order them when you get there.
  4. Congrats. Wish that happened more often.
  5. Ok, that makes me feel better. I just wanted to clarify where the that third mag was.

    Inconsistency

I know how you feel. If you figure out anything please let me know. That C/D shooter keeps ruining my shooting game. Once he shows up the day goes downhill.
  7. Welcome back to the truck world. I can understand how you feel. I have had a truck for as my primary driver for over 20 years. It drives me crazy when I have to switch with my wife and drive her car.
  8. Thanks for all of the responses. Maybe I am just taking some of them the wrong way, but are IDPA matches held on a "hot" range? There are multiple answers stating that you have two mags on your belt and the one in the gun. Do you have the third mag in your pocket until it is time to shoot or do you really have it in your gun while you are walking around?
  9. I have been thinking about giving IDPA a try. My daily concealed carry handgun is a Taurus PT-145. I was trying to find a approved handgun list to see if this was a legal gun for competition. How many magazines should I have before I try to shoot a match? I believe that I read in the rules where you can only have two magazines on the belt, how many do you have in your pockets? What catagory would the PT-145 be allowed to compete in? I tried the search feature on this forum but I could not find many answers.
  10. The best advice I received many years ago was "look at the equipment that the top shooters in the sport use". Sponsor or not, if the equipment does not work they would not be shooting it or if they did, they would probably not be one of the top shooters.

    Snake gun

The only good snake is a dead snake. I have walked up on plenty of snakes that had no intention of backing down. When I am outside and working on my property I carry a Rossi 88. It was a cheap little 38 and has never failed me even though I have put plenty of rounds through it at the range and some rat shot through it out back.
  12. Jacketed: Montana Gold Coated: Precision Bullets Have not shot plain lead in many years.
  13. 25 years turning wrenches for GM dealerships. No hope of retirement. Mechanics never retire, they just die.
  14. Bullseye BBQ Sauce. Especially the Mesquite flavor.
  15. Thanks for the response. I am just wanting personal experience and opinion. I had thought about making it a poll, but there seems to be some hostility towards polls here for some reason.
  16. I tried the search and came up empty. I guess I just did not use the magic combination of words.
  17. I just got my new open gun running. It has a standard length slide. 38 Super running 115gr MG JHP's at around 1470 fps. It has a 9lb conventional spring in it right now. I was told to try a lighter spring in order to allow the comp to work better. My question is should I stay with a conventional or should I use the variable recoil spring. I know that the FAQ on Wolff's web site states that variables are good for compensated pistols. I know that everyone has their own opinions and that it is just a personal preference. I am just wondering what everyone is using here?
  18. My old phone died today. I got a new LG env3 phone. It accepts a Micro SD card for extra memory. My problem is that I find 2gb Micro SD cards or if you go bigger it is listed as a Micro SDHC. I cannot find any hard answer for this question. Can I use a SDHC card in this phone or do I have to use a straight Micro SD card only?
  19. I would like to have them. Of course as usual if they come up for sale right now, I won't have the money for them.
  20. Has anyone tried this mag from SPS? I have neard good and bad things about SPS mags. I would hate to spend the money on their mag to find out that it is a big paperweight.
  21. I load as I get time. I make sure that I have enough for any big match. When I sit down to load I usually load at least 400 rounds. Reloading for me is a relaxing time, time to unwind.
  22. I bought quite a bit of my supplies from the Lecks for the first few years until they got out of the business. My condolences to the family.
  23. If you shoot long enough you will probably be DQ'ed. As I have heard many people say, "there are two types of shooters, those that have DQ'ed and those that will be DQ'ed". Mine was a AD on the last stage of a match. I am also a CRO and have had to DQ plenty of shooters including Master and Grand Master shooters. No one is immune to being DQ'ed. Look on the bright side. You already have been DQ'ed so you do not have to worry about your first DQ. Learn from it and keep having fun with your shooting.
  24. I am currently reading Brians book beyond fundamentals. I also found Matt Burkett's book "The Practical Shooting Manual" to be very helpfull and well illustrated. I still go back and reread it sometimes to refresh myself. You can get it in Brians store. http://www.brianenos.com/store/books.html
