  1. I believe the web site states that production will be allowed to load mags to full capacity. No mag. round restriction since this is a "outlaw" match.
  2. Maybe you guys with a 'routine' are the reason for that request. I'm hoping to learn how the heck the RO supposed to know a shooter is not still mentally rehearsing. If someone ever gives me a problem about giving a nod or otherwise letting me know when their 'routine' is done, I'll just ask 'are you ready' every 5 seconds until I don't hear 'no'. Some guys just load their gun, reholster, assume the start position, and are ready to roll. Some have a 'routine' of more or less theatrics and rehearsal and runthrough and whatever. That's fine, but it's often not at all obvious when someone is done with their mental gymnastics. I was a CRO for years and have worked major matches. I rarely have had a problem seeing when a shooter is ready. They will usually stop and relax, you wait a few seconds and give the command.
  3. I have shot a few stages with prone ports. Most of them were at area matches. First thing I learned was that if you have mags across your belly they will HURT when they get stuck between the ground and your gut. After that first time I always made sure that I planned to not have any of the mags in the front mag holders.
  4. So far I have just plinked with mine at the deer lease. No problem hitting cans or 8 inch steel plates at 80 to 100 yds. with the iron sights. I keep trying to actually get to the range and put it on paper but just haven't yet. From just plinking though I am fairly impressed.
  5. Welcome back. I just came back from about a 3 year burnout. I am back to having fun again also. Has the karate helped your shooting?
  6. Welcome to the forum. Lots and lots of good information around here. I started my life in Rio Gallegos then my parents moved to Bahia Blanca. Stayed in Argentina till I was 8 and then they came back to the States and never went back. Used to know Spanish but lost it from not being used.
  7. I'm going to have to have one of those. If for nothing else to see the ROs face when he sees it. I would like to have a shirt made like that also. Any creative person that can design a good shirt here?
  8. The one that really bothers me at a local match is "give me a nod when your ready" That is not a correct command and it really throws me off of my routine. If you try to correct them they seem to get aggravated and if I do not nod they will just stand there.
  9. Actually the 30 round are legal but they dont work very well for the prone position. Also, make sure that your trigger is at least 4 1/2 pound pull. Quoted from rule book. U.S. Rifle, Caliber 5.56mm M-16 series - In all courses of fire and in all positions the standard 10, 20- round or 30-round box magazine or a reduced capacity magazine of the same external dimensions will be attached.
  10. Great match today. You have to look at the bright side. You have now gone from the squad of shooters who will dq to the squad that has already dq'ed. There are lots of GM's in this squad. You are safe and everyone else is safe. You stayed and helped, this shows very strong character. There are many who when this happens just get upset or embarrased, pack up and leave. I have been dq'ed, it is embarrasing but you need to learn from it and move on stronger. Just keep trying. Talk to other shooters, they can be some of the best encouragement and a good scource of information.
  11. Had a great time at the match. Hope this becomes a regular match. Great facilities. Thanks for getting this going.
  12. You do not understand minor scoring either, huh? No picture but I prefer using my FN-FAL for three gun. Nothing like watcing steel fly when it gets nailed by 168gr at major velocities.
  13. Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a good day celabrating.
  14. It is a Ford. About the only thing they can do with the body on is change oil. Most diesel repairs require the removal of the cab and front clip to access the engine.
  15. I have some surplus 8X56R ammo made in 1938. Goes bang every time. I have a friend that has been hunting with ammo loaded in the 50's and 60' by his grandfather. As long as it stay's out of heavy moisture it should last for a very long time.
  16. Will remember your family in our prayers. Try to keep positive.
  17. That was great. Almost blew my drink through my nose.
  18. In USPSA here is what I remember. SIG PARA Taurus STI S&W Briley(STI)
  19. Here is a quote from the NROI Range Officers Creed. I have not checked but am pretty sure that IDPA has something similar. Since this competitor has been warned repeatedly about his equipment it would be hard for him to say that he did not know. It seems that he believes that he is above the rules or that he will break them any way he wants since he has learned that there are no consequences. Other people will either follow his example or they will just go elsewhere to shoot since they do not see this club as taking the rules seriously in order to provide a fair playing field. Before the next match starts I would go to the MD and tell him of your intentions in this matter that way he is already aware when things develop. Maybe print this thread out and let him read it so he understands part of what your thoughts are based on.
  20. How many bays do you have? What size are the bays? How many stages are you trying to setup? Will all of the stages be setup prior to the match or do you have to change out due to lack of space?
  21. 70 Impala, 350 4 barrel with a 350 tranny. It gave its life to save mine when I fell asleep driving at 4:00 in the morning out in the middle of nowhere went airborne over a culvert at about 75 mph.
  22. I like high round counts. If there are enough rounds they will work in the harder things also. Nothing worse than having to clean a gun after a 60 or 70 round match. If I am going to have to clean my gun I want to have hosed a few rounds and burned some ammo. I used to like the 4H charity match that they held in Coleman. If I remember correctly the last match I went to was 8 stages 40 rounds per stage. That was FUN.
