    Dak conversion?

Anyone know how much it cost to convert a 226 dak to regular da\sa? Where can the needed parts be bought? I looked on the Sig web site and couldn't find parts for sale.
  2. At least they gave Mickey Rourke a little work.
  3. Amadeus,...A Clockwork Orange,.....Love Story (1970),.....The Corsican Brothers,....Cars (cartoon),.....Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man,.....Bad Santa
  4. I'm the only one who's watched the Glades? I got fresh deodorant on, promise.
  5. I ate some gator, it's pretty good cooked cajun style, a lot better than I expected and a hell of a lot better than the shark I was talked into once. I have a problem picking something that I might like when there's something I KNOW I like on the menu, like jambalaya or T bone.
  6. I'm telling this not to put Munden down, I have great respect for his ability. One year he put on a demo at the Steel Challenge probably mid 80's, for most of us it was the first time seeing him and his first shot times blew us away and the two shots on two balloons was awesome. The next year IIRC he entered the Steel Challenge. My friends and I gathered around figuring out with his first shot times and just average shooting times what his total would add up to and we figured he would walk away with it. Again IIRC he came in the bottom third or so, we worried for nothing. But he is still great at what he does.
  7. I really like this show which is unusual for me, I'm more into the military channel or true crime type shows. Just the humor and being different enough to make it interesting to watch.
  8. Hate it, stupid is about the best I can say.
  9. I liked it. I learned about gator hunting years ago, I was blown away when they said they just used 22's cheap ones at that, you don't want to damage the hide and that little spot is the path to their tiny little brains. You could shoot them to pieces with a magnum and they'd still eat you. Those are good salt of the earth people living like their ancestors have. They are better stewards of the environment than anything that comes out of DC. Not only that but pretty good shooters call Louisiana home. My only real disappointment with the show is they are trying to make it some kind of race like the logging shows. I guess they think they have to so people will watch, I bet they are wrong.
  10. There is an old recoil reducer called the "dead mule" or something close to that. It looks like the in the stock mercury units but has a sliding weight with springs on both sides inside it. Works really well and should be perfect for the inertia operating guns because of the delay like the mercury ones have. Also a good recoil pad can make a huge difference, Sims labratory makes some that work.
  11. The instructions on the ezeloader can be a little hard to understand. What is meant by the last 1\8th inch is that the bolt is not released until the last 1\8th inch of travel. You're not the only one to misunderstand that. JFYI make sure you never dry fire your 1100 trigger group outside of the gun, it can bend that tab sticking up and cause functioning problems later.
  12. If it has choke tubes try a different one, they can be bored off enough to do that. If it has no tubes you can send it to Briley and ask them to make sure it shoots where you want it. Brilely even makes off center choke tubes to correct poi problems. You can bend the barrel but it is not easy on something like your gun and it will return to the original posistion someday. I've used one of the magnetic fiber optic sights you can buy for cheap, they sit up high and will correct for some high shooting, don't know if enough for yours. You need a higher front sight not a lower one. Oh a old time backyard fix just came back to me. You can file the muzzle off at an angle to adjust the poi believe it or not. Bottom side shorter than the top to make it shoot lower. It works but not something to be proud of. edit to add, it doesn't take much filing of the muzzle to make a difference, file a little and try. the muzzle can always be squared back up if you don't completely butcher it.
  13. Huge difference between the common forester type slugs and the high tech slugs in trajectory. Make sure you know which ones you will be using. I like a 1 1\2 inch high at 50 yds zero. Don't know about 150 yds, what shotgun and ammo will group good enough at 150 to tell where the zero is?
  14. If you visit a large clay target shoot no matter which kind and ask around you will not find many who think the Dillon is a good machine. I think if you have been using Dillon metallic loaders you will have less problems adapting to a 900 for shotshells, guys that have loaded on traditional shotshell loaders and nothing else often have problems. If you want the very best get a Spolar and add the Ponsness Warren electric drive, lot's of bucks but an absolute joy to use and crank out lots of perfect reloads.

    11-87

With the 1187 target guns the gas system concerns of the field models doesn't apply. Saying a Remington 1100/1187 is not a good shotgun for trap, skeet, or even sporting clays is like saying the 1911 is useless for USPSA. I'd say the 1100 has still won more trap and skeet tournaments than all the rest put together. You don't see as many at the sporting clays range because many prefer the light weight aluminum receivers the Berettas and others have. And of course the sporting clay shooters who don't believe the 1100\1187's are reliable, which is total BS. Pick out the shotgun that fits you and you like.
  16. In 1959 shotguns didn't have to have a serial number. I'm sorry to report this but at least the newer Marocchi's have mixed reviews to say the least among shotgun competitors. Check out the sporting clay forums for more info.
  17. Metalife is one of the few companies that will hard chrome aluminum, that is the answer IMHO.
  18. Just as an example, at one time a company made titanium hammers, the wear in the area that contacts the firing pin stop and then runs along the bottom of the slide wore very quickly. A round steel insert was tried in that area which would slip sideways preventing the pistol from firing and that was the end of that idea AFAIK. To quote Duane, why on earth would you want one?
  19. You could just turn the barrel down behind the bushing area like the old Colts did.
  20. I have had a little experience with AR barrels, you are having way too much trouble getting your AR to shoot well. I won't mention any brands but if you can get access to a good magnifying, lighted, borescope have a good look at your barrel especially where the gas port was drilled. There are barrels that have problems in that area and will never deliver the accuracy an AR is capable of. I'm lucky to have access to a borescope that hooks into a computer so you can see everything on the monitor.
  21. Where can I get Ionbond coating done? Is there more than one place?
  22. That move one way and see it the other is how my hand held 20x regular microscope works, is it defective or is it me?
  23. There is a steep learning curve to building reliable open guns every time. Anyone can get lucky and throw some parts together and it works, seek out the gunsmith who's built lots of open guns that work.
  24. S\A has fit the box on every 1911 I have.
