  1. A tactikool way of carrying a spare gas piston? TEOTWAWKI
  2. Make sure they clean you out completely or you will have to do it over, this happened to my Mom. She used to be a nurse and was telling her nurse she wasn't completely prepped and they went ahead with it anyway. So she had to do the whole thing over.
  3. Hey that's MY dream girl. eyes up.
  4. cLooney will be in any movie if there is a chance to make Americans look bad.
  5. Here's one that boomers or gen x'ers should know. Being drunk and weary I went to Mollys chamber takin my Molly with me And I never knew the danger for about six or maybe seven,in walked Capt Farrel. I jumped up, fired my pistols and shot him with both barrels
  6. Unless you actually check the weight with a spring checker you really don't know what weight the spring is. This might be the reason your new "heavier" spring is acting like a lighter one. Just a thought..
  7. If you really really never plan to remove it, silver solder in paste form will keep your compensator on. Brownells sells it. I'm really disturbed to hear that slide mounted red dots are garbage for open guns.
  8. Out of control is relying on luck, my luck stinks.
  9. This may not be exactly on point but, Chip McCormick had a drill where you put one target to your extreme left right on the 180, and the other on the extreme right side. Shoot one side, snap over, shoot the over, snap over and so on. This allows a magnification of your errors and makes it easier to see what you are doing wrong. If you have a buddy to watch or video make sure you're not dipping the gun between shoots too.
  10. I hate to disagree with Brian and maybe I'm not really. But IMHO and experience, people who have a refined trigger pull discipline, like what you learn shooting a 1911 with a good trigger, tend to have trouble with the Glock. At least with the average stock Glock trigger trying to shoot at speed. Someone new that has limited trigger control can just mash the Glock all the way thru like a rusted staple gun and do ok. The extra pull weight actually requires you to have a better grip which helps out overall. This is also my explanation why some people shoot better double action with a revolver than they do single action, it's hard to flinch or try to make the gun go off NOW with a double action or something like a Glock. For new shooters I have dealt with that is a big hurdle, getting them not to just mash the trigger as the sights pass anywhere close to the target.
  11. I need the dimensions and angles for Tri Topping and STI slide, please. Have machinist to do it just need some specs, thanks.
  12. After you do whatever you do to get the FP to fit the hole take a punch and push it as far as you can forwards to make sure it doesn't stick full forward.
  13. A lathe with a good operator can do it.
  14. Does anyone know if Bev Grams is working on Doctor sights or not? I can't get a return email to find out.
  15. Please tell SigLady. I agree the show is not getting better, just as long as it doesn't get worse I'll continue watching it. I enjoy his bent kind of humor but don't like where it's going with the love interest.
  16. I hate that they are using Howling Wolf as background music for the latest Viagra commercial. First off it's too dang hard to get that riff out of your head. While I love Smoke Stack Lightning I just think it's too good for a commercial.

    Reloading

Late post too but must add. For me, in my advanced years after a long life of shooting, reloading is just under getting a prostate exam by a ex pro 7'2" basketball player now a GP. I know I have to do it but I just can't learn to enjoy it and if I could get someone to do it for me I would. You guys too young to require testing go ahead and laugh, but soon it will be your turn.
  18. IIRC our host used a piece of leather glued on the barrel for a finger stop. Barge cement is a good glue for leather to steel. I highly recommend using something when shooting the Bianchi barricades. Know a guy who thought he had an unusually good hold until the first shot.
  19. If loose in the dovetail loctite it in with black or red loctite. If the sight itself is loose, lock the sight up with JB Weld or Epoxy, deal with it when you get back. You probably need a new sight anyway.
  20. There are a few people who can ride the trigger exactly in the right place and cause just about any 1911 or 2011 to double. Thankfully for those in the trigger job business they are only a few. The heavier the trigger job and the more over travel the harder it is to do.
  21. Use the recoil spring that allows your gun to work 100% no matter what, bad grip, weak hand, strong hand, off ballance, crappy grip, good grip, every way. Stay with it because your senses are learning the timing as you shoot. I know this will not be agreed with by many, if any, but I think this whole thing of picking a spring that dips the least feeding a dummy round is somewhat bogus. To start with, when actually firing the pistol is completely cycled before the sights are back from recoil and the pistol is level. The slide is already forward unless you have terminator type power holding it which tends to slow you down in other ways.
  22. No better not...but it should be pointed out..no better not I like it here. Aw dang it, where's the grip safety on a HP, Glock, CZ, Revo, and so forth?
  23. This. Don't know if there is any blacksmiths\pistolsmiths left to do the flared out job.
  24. Second on the older Browns, they also will hold more than ten if you change follower. Wilsons are great of course. Seen too many McCormicks over insert on a lock back reload causing a giant PITA type jam. Also saw a guy break an extended ejector that way but he was a big ole boy.
  25. How is the trigger, have you weighed it?
