  1. I'll bet any bad guy will stop in his tracks when he sees that big cavalry pistol come out of your holster. Something about the shape of it makes folks respect it instantly.
  2. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,493010,00.html It's interesting to hear different pastors' views on this topic. The ones against seem to think that all armed people are bad. (guns are for bad people) But a pastor who's for it had an interesting quote: "A good shepherd would not allow a wolf near his flock," said DeYmaz, whose church is located in one of the city's tougher areas. Maybe he knows what a sheepdog is? Personally, I don't leave the house unarmed. So I'd have to pick my church carefully.
  3. How awful. So sorry that your beloved little guy went out that way. Pits are worse than loaded shotguns. A shotgun won't do a thing until someone picks it up. Pits are unguided missiles. A pit bull lived behind my mom's house and when i went over to mow her back yard, I always strapped up. That thing kept trying to eat through the wooden fence, and if he made it on the yard, it would have been over. People are out of their minds who own these damn beasts.
  4. Also in USPSA, holster and mag placement is dependent on what division you shoot in. Almost every division but Single Stack allow just about anything.
  5. Brian by my guestimation, a dedicated box like that would be around $250 a month.. close? Money is inbound for a patch. It'll go right next to the USPSA one on my range bag. Someone had a great idea for a belt keeper with that logo as well. Perhaps just an Enso? Then those "in the know" would immediately recognize a shooter as a BE.com guy! Something like this?
  6. There's also the option of rasterizing the text layer, then converting it to a shape.
  7. I notice a lot of women drivers are a little skeered of backing up. I fault driver's education.
  8. I have 4 of 'em on my Double Alpha. Which is wider than the CRSpeed, so i used some black zip ties to secure the pouches. got that idea from a Production guy...
  9. Finally a good guy rolls and shoots like we wanna see. None of this negotiating with the hostage taker. BAM BAM! pause BAM! Great movie
  10. Feeler. Although my grip tends to 2.. I try to have the same feeling of isometric tension in my hands/arms/upper body.. if my grip is closer to 1, my trigger finger feels "bound up" a bit. As an aside, I'm a southpaw. I'm also a professional guitar player. My left hand fingers have decades of training behind them to push right on the fingertip. So i did that with my trigger finger for a long time. didn't even notice it, but my shots were pushing to 3 o'clock. I finally started putting the trigger on the pad of my finger (which felt "wrong") and my shooting improved. Now i have guitar calluses and gun calluses!
  11. I'm out because my ammo money job went away. I love the sport but my unrealistic expectations of my own performance, coupled with match nerves, and the aforementioned advice givers made for some unpleasant days at matches. When I come back to the sport I'm going to do it for the sheer joy of it, and not worry a bit what everyone says/thinks/opines I should do/buy/use. Single Stack and proud!
  12. Are they honestly so dense as to not even CHECK a surface upon which they are about to rest their naked butt? How is that our fault?
  13. Dad's story sounds a bit BS to me. Two punk drunkards think they're SF material? El Oh El.... And their dad buys that story? Ar Oh Eff El...
  14. Places you can go cheap at first would be the belt (can use a stout leather belt from the closet), and mag pouches (still have my old Ernie Hill leather doubles). Do not go cheap on magazines. Get Wilson, Chip McCormick or the like. These mags cost money. Because they're worth it. A crappy magazine will cause malfunction after malfunction, costing you way more time in the stage than you'd ever gain with a whiz bang speed holster. I eventually put together a Double alpha belt with a Blade Tech holster and 4 Blackhawk CQC mag pouches. And I have all Wilson 500 or 47D magazines.
  15. I'm in a clan that plays COD4 for the PC. Some really good players there. Stop by if you want a challenging game. 69.147.251.58:28960
  16. Mr. Enos, if I misquote your book please say so but this is the message I gleaned from it: Confidence implies expected results. Expected results distracts from the present, which is to prepare to shoot. Then comes the shooting. See everything. See yourself shooting as you shoot. Don't judge or second guess, just see, shoot and see. There is only the present. All else is a distraction.
  17. omg. i have gotten to the end of this thread. I feel like I have surfed to the end of the whole Internet! I also have to get rid of that dining table and put in a bench.
  18. well the next question is what is US Airways policy on APU usage during climbout? I would think they'd barely have time to fire it up after a double bird strike. With or without full control authority, this water landing was textbook perfect. Having a bank angle of zero is what kept them from ending up like that Ethiopian Airways 767 did. Once an engine nacelle touches the water, it turns into the world's most effective speedbrake.
  19. "Why don't I blow a hole in your face, then I'll go inside. I'll sleep like a baby. We used to stack f*cks like you five feet high, use you for sandbags!"
