Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. As far as i know, mid lenght open guns are mostly custom made with 5" bull barrel threaded during the build. Just like the slide lenght which is in between govt. and commander lenght. I don't think you can buy a 5" bull barrel already threaded for the build unless you order one directly from the manufacturer.
  2. Just sell your Limited DVC and get an Open!
  3. +++++1 As long as you're having fun, enjoying the game and not breaking any rules regarding equipments. I don't care about what other people will have to say.
  4. I'm glad i read this thread. I've been planning to put an order for a new SV limited gun. But, I was contemplating all the time about the price. Now, I made up my mind not to order one and just save my money.
  5. IMHO, it's not crap! As long as the fire control group is put together properly and it's safe ti shoot. I have a RIA 1911 in 9mm and it's my favorite range gun. I even used it in SS division minor coz' it's very accurate. That upper came from a tactical model, and i think it has an unramped barrel too. But, i don't have any feeding problem with mine. My advice is, try and shoot the gun and see if there's any problem. It seems that the price is not a problem for you that's why you're very interested. I bet it's soft shooting with a full dust cover frame. Goodluck!
  6. I think one of the reasons why it's not popular for competition shooting is that because of the firing pin safety or schwartz system. I started shooting USPSA with my Kimber Eclipse in 45 acp. And, I had problems gripping the gun properly in order to shoot. So, I had to remove the firing pin safety in order to shoot reliably. It would have been nice if they will make series 70 type again in 40 s&w.
  7. I tried 124g Berrys in my Open gun and the accuracy was horrible. I thought it's time to change the barrel. But, when I switched back to 124 MG-JHP the accuracy improves. Tried it also in my Limited gun. I used 180g Berry's and the accuracy was bad also even the bullet holes.
  8. Can you make major out of just 4.3g of Titegroup?
  9. But, is there any 3-gun matches in Iowa? I think the closest one in my place is Tri-County gun club in Polo, IL.
  10. Mod: pls. remove! Found some topics already!
  11. No, you should receive an email from Dale Hayen which contains a password to the self-squadding on USPSA website. And, no it appears that ALL Sat/Sun slots are full... Thanks for the reply!
  12. I'm planning to shoot Area 5. But, is there anymore slots left for Sat.(PM)/Sun(AM)? I tried to register on-line and there's no shooting schedule available. Do I need to mail the form also? Thanks!
  13. I got one in my Glock 24, it works fine with Arredondo basepads without any modifications.

    Glock 24

I've seen some G24's in Gunbroker around $600.
  15. No, I decided not to go through with the conversion. And, just planning to buy a separate single stack in 40 cal. probably STI Trojan. I just keep my Kimber 9mm the way it was and use it for steel. thanks!
