  1. Also recd my information yesterday. It contained the following: one page on USPSA 3GN items for sale, one page on the Jr. raffle, one page note about this year match, and one page on the lodging details and Reno offerings. It does mention the Rodeo and Volleyball tournament in town and the short supply of rooms. This information should have sent months ago.
  2. Shot last year's match and it was very good as Cindy and crew did an excellent job. Go and shoot it - you will not be disappointed. We're looking forward to it.
  3. uscbigdawq - I don't have a copy of the 1995 Nationals tape or know anyone who does. Is there a website for the Range? Could we drive up and park at the bays or do have to cart our gear around? Do you know if golf carts rentals will be available like the 2003 3GN? I'm not sure if I understand what's the deal with the "3-Gun stage design vs. USPSA stage design" . Please explain if you could.
  4. George - The match motel is a truckstop motel & casino? I'll keep looking for a spot that isn't sold out for that weekend. Any word on round count or courses of fire? Could anyone provide some details about the Range itself, ie, layout, size, location, etc.
  5. Troy- - Well said and couldn't agree more with you. Sorry to hear you won't be there just wouldn't be the same without you. Rich - We're 60 days out and we (competitors) have nothing. It not very reassuring for those us who are traveling from the opposite of the country. The lodging situation looks bleak as there is a Rodeo and Volleyball tournament in town and most (if not all) motels in that immediate area are sold out for that weekend. The information needs to get out as soon as possible.
  6. Nothing here not even lodging information. I don't have a good feeling about this.

    SP-2

I'd called Mullins last week about their supply of SP2 and they still have a good sized supply. But the price she (Pam) quoted me was $15/lb and that's without the shipping. I liked the powder but at that price and bulk, there are other less expense choices. It would be interesting if someone else would call Muliins and reported back their findings.

    Barrel holes

Cameron, No shield on the Super but have one on the major 9 - it seems to help.
  9. Another recommendation for the Grams Format followers - they're the sh*t.

    Barrel holes

I have almost the same setup on my Super gun and I wish I could fill the holes in. The flip was minimial after adding the holes. The other downside is my C-More scope was always getting damaged - Had to replace the lense three times and it isn't cheap.
  11. The gas tube hole facing the barrel gas port.
  12. Gone but not forgotten . . .
  13. TXAG, Before you go and spend your hard earned dollars, ask yourself some basic questions: What do you want the gun to do? Will it be for 3G competition or general purpose use? Do you want a heavy weight, medium weight or lightweight barrel? What ammo will you shoot with it 98% of the time? What's my budget? Most times we get caught up in the machines and forget about the "mission" we want the machine to do. Having said that, think about how and what purpose you intend to use it and then define your requirements. Try to find other people's guns to look at and if possible, try out. Bennie Cooley wrote an article for Front Sight magazine back in Nov/Dec 2001(?) on the AR for 3G which was very good. I would suggest reading that article. Having used all of the available manufactures, Bushmaster, Rock River, and DPMS are very good brands and they build a vary of guns that may fit your requirements. As Eric Warren said, DPMS supports 3G and our sport so I choose to support those who support us. Hope this helps.
  14. Sterling, Tommy and you did a good job . . . might have to go next year.
  15. Erik, Sounds doable and it should be looked at.

    Sp2

Is any SP2, other than 55lbs, available? If so, where?
  17. This was posted in a different thread but thought it should have its own. To the USPSA BOD: I would like to know how a new rifle division was created that will effect the 3G community without prior knowledge or being made public for the membership to provide input or comments? Why was this proposal not shelved until the next meeting to allow time for the members to have some discussion and input? I felt this was done behind our collective backs. It was not listed as one the topics to be discussed and yet without any input, a new division is created that affects all of 3G. Does this mean the BOD could remove a division like Revolver without any input from its members? I don’t believe such an action would be taken but maybe I’m wrong. Your input would greatly be appreciated.
  18. Bear1142, UFUNNYMAN - The part about "with no shots over 10 yards" . . . come on 10yds . . . You know it be at least 12yds! Your wit amazes me! "Can't we all just get along?" In all seriousness, you and me are great friends and also owe much of my little success to you. You are the innovator and I do the analysis. There's nothing new but reapplication of the old. Now, when and where is the next 3G match?
  19. "My best advise is to consider selling it and getting an AR." - Solid advise
  20. Dang . . . a snappin' contest . . . OK . . . . You're right about innovations either technical or ergonomics. We all need (not a word you support) these items to fit our unique requirements. Some are good and some are just there because we think we need/want them. If you feel such items make you shoot better than go for it. I was trying to point out (not successfully) that you are a very skilled shooter and you'll do just fine with them or without them. Consider Project Whisper (another story and disagreement) – that would be a technical advance worthy of the history books. But I’m more surprised you were not pushing the sling (another story and disagreement). A side note, your setup is a direct copy of my setup (like you said) with a few exceptions. Copying is the most sincere form of flattery and you’re welcomed. And yes, please continue
  21. Whatever you're smokin' . . . stop it. Considering that dil-doo a technical innvovation is a stretch but if you want that crutch then so be it. I think you'll place just fine with it or without it.
  22. "What is that funny looking mono-pod looking do-dad attached to the handguard??" - a crutch
  23. Use a Dremel tool with sanding drum. Go easy with it. If you need one let me know as I have a few already done.
  24. Some people do run the buffer against the carrier for various reasons but that part was put there for a reason so just replace it.
