So the easy fix is a flat bottom mag like the Mecgars I got from Greg Cote---> http://gregcotellc.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=130&products_id=1496&zenid=d567049ea9fcbcfa971bc4d7720afc49 I use the 10 rounders but they have a regular capacity for free states.

I think once you add an optic the barrel length is less relevant. IMO the real sleepers in this division will be pistols like the P-01 set up like a full on comp ready Shadow but with a red dot.

What is your budget? I went back and looked at what Prof. Atlas used at the beginning of this thread. CZC: Race hammer Shadow mag release 97b trigger Flat hammer spring plug CGW: Ext. firing pin Ext. FP spring FPB spring 11.5 hammer spring Trigger return spring Type 1 short reset disconnector (why type 1 and not type 2?) Is that about it? I would like some improved sights. How about the CGW floating trigger pin? How about small easy to lose parts? Should I get a spare hammer spring strut and pins to make disassembly easier in case I need to fit the disconnector? Thanks in advance, Keith

Thanks. I came across that thread, but after the trigger bar he never finished lol. I think it is a work in progress of a very busy guy.

First time out with new to me P09 and CZ85

I took out the fiber rod and looked at it with a strong light and my jeweler magnifier. I'm not sure if there is a set screw or not. If there is it is a size smaller than I have. -
I took my trio of CZ's to the range today. The Accu Shadow was its usual boringly accurate, reliable self. The P09 and CZ85 ran without a hitch. Hey but wait a minute! The front sight is falling off the P09? I got the pistol with these sights on it. Can anyone help me ID the sight and tell me how the front sight is held on?

Why no short dust cover Shadow with a 75 slide profile?
midvalleyshooter replied to Lee G's topic in CZ
I plan to add sights and some trigger work to this transitional CZ85 from 1994. -
Welcome, I have not had a 650. I did have a 550 and I have owned an rl1050 for 20 years. My advice would be to get the 650. That is what I would get if I was starting over. The 550 is a nice press, but the manual indexing is tedious. I think as far as converting calibers the 550 and 650 are similar. Both are easy to switch.

Is this the right starter punch for the CZ trigger pin?

You could add the HAJO rear adjustable sight. I would check with CZ Custom to insure it would solve your issue. I am assuming IPSC allows rear sight replacement. Here is the link--> http://czcustom.com/czshadowtacrearhajo.aspx

Here are a couple links to help: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=191773&hl= http://czcustom.com/ http://cajungunworks.com/ http://www.olegnikitin.com/news/complete-disassembly-assembly-of-cz-75-sp-01-shadow I would suggest one of the CZ's without the firing pin block. They are easier to work on. Your choices are a Shadow, CZ85 or a Pre b version CZ75. This last link is for the disassembly of a Shadow. If you have a FPB the firing pin is retained with a roll pin rather than coming apart like a 1911. The sear cage has an extra spring and lever which make it kind of a pain.
