  1. 8 gr HS6 IS GOOD WITH 124 gr MG HPs. work up slowly.
  2. easy solution - file down bottom half of hammer - won't bite anymore:)
  3. I think it is good to load the rounds out to 1.17" oal, especially without spacers.
  4. I use Wolf small rifle primers for practice ammo - it doesn't go bang every time, but good 99% of the time. Was a huge thread on this a year or two ago, when it was tough to get primers.
  5. Welcome and thanks for the info. Strange that 3.1 - 3.5 gr Solo was accurate, or was that when you were measuring each powder charge? Jack
  6. You have me really confused. If I set my c-more for 25 yards, at 7 yards the bullets land two inches low. Say, is your C-More mounted sideways? If sight is sideways, then the 7 yd shot would move to the left, since that would be down if the sight were upright?? Did I get that right? Can't imagine why bullets would move 2" to the right. Unless you have the sight mounted sideways, or you're firing too few shots to form a meaningful group size. Going to follow this thread - dying to find out the answer. Jack
  7. How many shots are you firing at each distance/sight setting? Sounds like you have extremely repeatable results, but may not have enugh shots fired to draw conclusion. Moving 2" to the right at 25 yards is not a huge change. How large is your 10-shot group at 25 yards? There are 9 screws to keep tight: the two top grip screws, the two on top of the sight and the five holding the mount to the gun. Make sure they're all tight. After you make an adjustment to the sight, fire more than one five shot group - make sure the adjustment has settled in. And try some 10 - 15 shot groups at each range.
  8. If you do a "group buy", deal me in. I need primers and powder. Jack
  9. John, nothing wrong with ww231 for 9mm, but I've heard the N320,330 & 340 might be a little better. Also, try them with a 147 grain bullet. Check prices at gun show, but you might get better prices from Manny in Frostproof - he sells MG bullets and usually primers, etc. Jack
  10. Where are you, in New York? Where do you shoot? I've been shooting Dutchess County and Albany, as well in Pennsylvania. Jack
  11. I haven't had any trouble with the few PMC I've loaded to major - what kind of problem have you had? Jack
  12. I've been throwing S & B'S away for past two years - even for minor 9mm. Tough to get the primers in. Nice to know re: this steel case issue, also - I'll keep throwing them ALL away.
  13. 2 thoughts to add: 1. chrono the load - it may not be hot enuf to work the gun properly 2. I've had fte's due to one faulty mag - changed mags + problem went away good luck, so many possible problems, here.
  14. +1. My BHP shoots 147 gr 's much more accurately than 115's or 124's. Better try them out in Your gun.
  15. we spend lots of time in Davenport, in Polo. Good IPSC mathes locally usually 1x week. see you at a match, soon. Jack
  16. Best to use the walnut first, and then finish with corn cob? Or, can you skip the walnut? Jack
  17. Doc, you don't mention what caliber you're reloading. Only reason I mention is that Back A Long Time Ago, I reloaded only revolver (.41) and I didn't NEED anything to clean cases (I wiped them with lube, which cleaned them, before I loaded them) - didn't have a caliper or a chrono (but, boy, did I have some hot loads:( If you're reloading semi-auto, you do need all of the things listed - but you can get by without most of them if you're reloading for a revolver. Jack
  18. I found my adjustment wandering - finally realized it was some screws on my GRIP had loosened. Check all your screws once in a while, including the two on the sight and the five that hold the mount on.
  19. Yahoo !!! Too bad there's a HazMat Fee:(
  20. The biggest hidden cost is "weight gain" - damn Buffets - I gained about 7 lbs ... But, it was great:::
  21. Thanks, Doug & Darrell - sounds like I just might stay with my 3.8 gr WW231 - seems pretty good to me - wondering if the N320,330 or 340 might be better, but doesn't sound too much better? Maybe I'll try one pound of each, and see what happens - but the 147's seem more accurate in my Browning Hi=Power. Maybe I'll try some of the .356's or .357's though since I don't get grooves all around the spent bullets - only about two-thirds of the way around - with both MG and Zero 147's at .355". Jack
  22. Lost a mounting screw on my TruBor (didn't know it was loose). Sent an e-mail to C-More and they're mailing me a FREE packet of them:) Thought I was going to have to pay $10 to Shooters Connection for the pack, plus tax and S/H. So, I now have $15 to play with:) Anyone have anything they want to sell me for $15 (including S/H)? I've been shooting with C-More's on my Tru-Bors for three years, and LOVE 'EM.Loc-Tite out ,.,,. And, YES, I got the old bottle of Jack
  23. When you say the N340 is more accurate than N320: 1. have you tried 147 grain bullets? 2. how much more accurate? What size 10 - shot groups are you getting with the N340 and the N320? I'm almost out of WW231 and thinking of trying the N320, from what I'm reading, but now wondering if I should try the N340 as well. Any disadvantages to the N340? Thanks, Jack
