Labs are the best dogs. Mine was very protective of my wife when she needed to be and totally lovable the rest of the time. They also tend to be fairly social with other dogs... I have a blue heeler right now...NOT for children, nor for the faint of heart - she is protective but also fairly aggressive toward other dogs. She settles into the pack well but when she first goes to a dog park she tends to let them all know she has arrived. Since they are heelers they tend to be mouthy/nip...I've heard tales of them trying to herd small children too. By FAR my toughest dog to train so far...but now that she is almost 4 she loves to learn and please but very hard headed...ymmv. I might try a Cheasapke next time...but they are so hard to spell...

Now back to your regular (3G) programming... As suggested at your first match check out what everyone is shooting and ask questions...take your time when looking at the guns though...on first glance they may all look alike...mostly black and style ABC rifle and style XYZ shotguns...it is the details that I look for i.e. comps, optics, triggers, etc...not necessarily the "brand" of receivers (plenty of threads on those by searching). I'm sitting in phoenix airport...checked ccw...they didn't even ask to se my weapon...looked at my locked case and said ok. No extra lines at all. And I turned down chance to go shoot this am but declined due to percived extra security...oh well gives me extra time to surf BE

Congrats! You'll really like the X5... I'm not sure if any of our vendors have them but you should try top gun supply if not... http://www.topgunsupply.com/sig-sauer-x-five-magazines/ $72.95 each. Also regular 226 mags will work fine for plinking, too. They just don't have the basepad and for <$30 that isn't a big deal. Good move on getting the 40 - barsto makes 9mm conversion barrels - some of which are "drop in" ready. I had my comp fitted with a 9mm barrel by GGI but they claim to be "drop in". You don't even have to change the extractor, etc. to go 9mm...swap barrels go shooting on the "cheap."
