  1. That is the reality that I seem to be coming up with too. Cheap laptop for $300 w/USB to external...I guess I could shoot with smaller jpgs to accompany the RAW's. I'm not too clear on the amount of power that is accessible. Although I know there is some, I don't want to have to count on it. Nor do I want to be "the guy" who requires the generator to be blasting the night away. So that bring me back to several smaller cards - and realizing, not every image HAS to be 25MB+... I can't wait.
  2. I was beginning to wonder It was right at 8 weeks of their "6-8 week" estimate. I'm taking a big trip this summer and this is key. I haven't left the US for a while so I wasn't up to date. Lord willin' and the crik don't rise...I'll be heading to Madagascar with fellow member here Cryptoprocta, Dr. Dollar, to study the Fossa and save their forest, and other habitat, etc. I'll be doing some PJ type work (photo-journalism) covering Dr. Dollar's work there and the local villagers who are helping Dr. Dollar and the Earthwatch program. So, yes this is the reason behind some of my recent (forth coming) sales. for those of you who care to know. Here is a link to Crypotoprocta's work (I hope he doesn't mind my mentioning) : http://www.nationalgeographic.com/field/explorers/luke-dollar.html And the Earthwatch site: http://www.earthwatch.org/exped/dollar.html Sometime next fall I plan to have an exhibit - maybe raise some dough for the cause. For now I'm still trying to figure out how many GB's of compact flash cards to take... See, some of us like to hug trees AND hang targets on them

    Jerry Miculek Facts

    The Dalai asks Jerry...
  4. Anything goes...does it have to be a subgun? Or might the HK51 get to make an appearance?
  5. They have some nice grips for Browning HP but I didn't see Tanfog etc. I sure like their Operators on my Single stack
  6. Open mags - Are those made by Mecgar, too? Just curious...as I'm out of the X5 game...for a while.
  7. Steel - you bring enough ammo and you can run my MP5 in the match...you could at least give me a chance to beat you with something. This will likely be my last Subgun match with my MP5...getting sold this spring... I'll have to use my buddy's next time I guess. DanO - I carry as many as I can just in case...the thought of running out of ammo makes me ill Good luck! It is a fun match to shoot even if it is over too soon.
  8. Flork- nice to see you are still milling around! I have a couple SWAT mags in the classifieds if you need them let me know.
  9. nope, April 9th 10th & 11th 2010...you coming?
  10. Carry as much ammo as possible. It is usually 1 course of fire (one start) but several shooting positions. I looked on their site and they say ~100 rounds. I've done it for a few years and never saw a round count that low...I'll have at least 300 rounds on me...but I'm not that good either It will be mostly steel. Sometimes they'll have movers and paper too. Best advise...be patient. You show up at a specific time with your squad...and wait. When did you sign up to shoot?
  11. Congrats! But what if the US hockey team won?!
  12. OT!! This is wearing me out
  13. I'll probably go with the Zoom...I'm going to be visiting the BH Photo store in NYC in a few weeks. They take trades and I have an old lens they will take.
  14. Welcome to the board Andy! Memphis- FYI - Everything around here seems to have "Miami" worked in to the name...confuses me too. Heck we have a "little" and a "great" Miami river...Miami University ("of Ohio") not to be confused with those lost guys in FL at University of Miami... Be sure to come back soon!
  15. Those guys are just looking for a big hole to hit in the road...then it all comes off...easy. My favorite is the ones who only clear off the window right behind their heads...
  16. Well Chris it is a "double entendre" I suppose...'cause that fits too! I had MTBR for my car tags for a while...got asked why my tags said meat beater
  17. Does anyone have any thoughts on Digital Audio recorders? I'm looking at a TASCAM DR07, Zoom H2 and Yamaha...all <$200. I need removable memory as the built in cards only hold 2GB. I've been reading until I'm blue in the face...the Yamaha is the big question as it is TINY and that is very appealing but tiny doesn't do 96KHz quality...the Zoom does. They all seem so flimsy when you handle them too Thanks in advance! Joel
  18. u right to due, right good luck with that
