    Dalai Lama

we should have grab someone by the scruff long ago... "boxers or briefs?"
  2. For some definitions = http://www.urbandictionary.com/ I usually just type the acronym into google.com and they usually have the answer. Don't sweat asking though ( it took me forever to get IIRC - If I recall correctly ) I've been a compu-nerd since the 80's and I still learn things daily.
  3. SD - Scrub Daily So I hear.
  4. I went with the SPR-E with the Burris XTR14. I read the recommendation here somewhere and took their advice. Works for me...and the LaRue folks are super nice.

I've been thinking all day what I would ask the Dalai... I think I have settled on this. "What does this mean?"

Tiger who? Never heard of him.
  7. Being a surveyor, I have done a lot of work in some very nasty swamps and bayous. I highly recomend this: Ben Meadows 95% DEET It melts plastic? I kinda like the burning euphoric feeling that it gives me. Your liver only last so long anyway I just got back from a local outfitter and they had Ben's there. I didn't pick any up 'cause I'd loose it before I go on the trip. But they stock it apparently. I'm not sure if I could take the butane with me flying commercial and they won't have it there I'm sure. I will also get some treated clothes as well...and a mosquito net.
  8. Normally I use Deep woods Off...but will be doing some traveling this year and want the best. I read "good" is 30-50% deet... Screw my liver, I want protection now.
  9. I present to you...the nickel collection...mmm. And it could be yours. http://www.sturmgewehr.com/webBBS/collectors.cgi?read=34268

    Sig X-5 Comp

Getting paid to train with your competition gun...or train with your work gun. It sounds like a good plan to me.
  12. The one I saw set off the gun. And as mentioned, I would expect it to go off from half cock, so I wouldn't rely on the finger in the middle technique. I have the comp hammer and it has lots of traction that I use to dig into the meat of my thumb tip. It really can become a smooth motion with plenty of practice. But however, I wouldn't recommend this set up for pure novices...(someone has to buy glocks - sorry haven't had much coffee this am.) I also like to let the RO know I'm decocking if they haven't RO'd me before...just to let them know - that I know what is going on...probably not needed but it makes me feel better and puts my brain in "super attention mode" too. ymmv
  13. Thanks for the fast follow up! ...Will be interested I feel.
  14. My brother has it...our dad's P38 bringback from WW II. In my safe, is dad's Glenfield .22 - I took it squirrel hunting as a kid. Hasn't been shot in 20+ years...but maybe I will someday soon. It won't hurt the collector value to shoot I learned to shoot with that P38 though.
  15. I de-cock with my strong hand only...not sure if that is good or bad but that is what I learned as a little shaver.
  16. I saw one at PB's range...might be same day. It was hot - he was sweaty...and it was the last COF. He was bummed/PO'd at himself and then of course, that @%^$@%^!!!!!! moment.
  17. Did you try an M&P? They feel good, inexpensive, accurate, and reliable. Once you pick one, PRACTICE! The OP was asking about the "most expensive" production guns with money as no object.
  18. That's all? 30 miles south and we have 12-14" in the front yard... Thanks for the update!!
  19. Chris...my Shadow is still NOT for sale Like Chris said it is smooth as butter. I like the heavy-ish feel -- feels like you are cheating the power factor. If you just want the most expensive production on the range, try an HK P7M13...in factory nickle.
  20. I'd like to take a look at your pouch set up on the belt. RH preferred but left would be good too. I have a set up question but would really like to get several images before I ask...if not too much trouble. Action shots OK but need to be fairly close up to see the the belt, etc. Thanks in advance...
