  1. Hmmm someone is selling the Remy Koolaid If it was true the top competitors would all be using them, fact is they aren't.
  2. I think there is some serious sight lost that some people don't have the carnival props to practice with, some do. If we keep to standard targets it makes it a leveler field for the average joe who can afford a few target stands and steel plates. The star isn't hard now that I've shot it enough, not that I am much more competant than the first time I shot it. It's just I've shot it a few times, and it hardly even moves now because I know the trick. It is akin to local folks shooting an array of wierd swingers that rely heavily on timing, some things just give to much of an advantage to those who get to practice with them, but I don[t see them going away.
  3. The weight difference is considerable, especially when you load them up. I've had both and they just feel different, but for some reason most of the top dawgs prefer the Benelli, just give Benny Hill a call at Triangle Shooting Sports he will endoctrinate you
  4. Ditto to Benny, I tried the drop in one from JP, just because, but I think the JP I fitted were better over all. I had to send the drop in trigger group back to JP because I had a Class 3 gun for awhile, but they fixed right up. If you are only going to fit one, the learning curve can be pretty steep.
  5. Bruce, thanks for the info. Here in Bend it would hurt like hell. Since we are fairly isolated and most of our shooters just want to shoot and not travel, so they don't join. I still keep them on the books when I submit the activity report, and I pay the fee to USPSA, but most of them just see no reason to join. I know we are "at the edge of the known universe" for those from Texas but we couldn't afford to have IPSC match if we forced people to join USPSA. For a small club like ours, it would probably force us to go "under the radar" which would suck.
  6. Oops, I didn't even look at that, someone forwarded asking for info, so I thought I would ask this group.
  7. Just an obervation, windmills have 4 times the surface area for the wind to hit (4 target windmills.) It can get REALLY windy at our range and activated targets have to be thoughtfully placed if we don't want a headache.
  8. If so what's the low down? http://www.kgcoatings.com/KG%20Gas%20Gun%20Flyer.pdf
  9. Maybe it's from my martial arts background, but the hips initiate the movement in punches and transitions, the knees follow and do what they need to do.
  10. Hey Dan, don't you want more business? You should let people ruin their parts so you can sell them new parts as well as well as the labor to properly fit them
  11. If there is nothing else in your brain the buzzer will be the first thing there. If you have other things in the way, ie. desire, fear, anticipation, the sound of the buzzer has to get around that before it registers. That my take anyways.
  12. RV6 fly nice, I had a friend who had one (before he went up in a flame of glory in his hotrod plane at an airshow ) Lancair's are really nice, they build them here. But I've known more people be happier and spend less on a share of a plane that meets their needs.
  13. 9mm you might be off just buying it. If you are going to shoot that much, Dillon Precision 1050 and an automatic tube filler. Reloading 50K a year it will be worth it.
  14. DRILL: Just shoot bullets and watch what is going on, forget about caring where they go. Just focus on being aware of as much as you can. Double plugging helps me a bunch. Then once you get the "Matrix" style vision (you'll know what I mean when it happens) apply getting into that awareness when you do all your shots... ... or as BE says, see something new with each shot. It isn't easy, desire is going to try to get in the way and distract you.
  15. "...sights crystal clear, that dictates the speed at which you shoot the target..." Quote from TJ Sounds like if you think you aren't shooting to your natural speed you just need to focus on improving you seeing. It is amazing how fast you can see if you let yourself. I've seen .1 splits with an open gun "crystal clear." Freeing the mind part, it isn't easy.
  16. I use flip us sights that co-witness the irons. I have it setup that way because it made the most sense at the time so if the SHTF I could use the irons without having to change the cheek weld. It seems to work ok but I'm no 3-gun expert.
  17. That is the danger of "over focusing" on static reloads IMO. I think that people should use the reload that works for the situation and the body type, not just the one that is smokin' when standing flat footed in front of the camera. Feedback, visual and feel both are good to have combined, I even take the strong hand wrist to an angle that is a positive point. It helps me, but your experience may vary.
  18. Thanks guys, I have a S12 on the way, as ammo here is pretty limited and I trust the guys who have had it before me. Thanks for the input!!! Any suggestions on the best way to mount my Eotech Holosight? I think that should work ok, if I hit the weights a bit
  19. I agree, but who is making them reach beyond their ability? It isn't circus props that kill stages, it's the stage designers (MD) who use them.
  20. I don't know if this will help, but I have better success if I drive the gun to my targets with my weakhand. As stated above you are driving it with your right. I dip my head when shooting irons, I don't when shooting open. Don't know it matters at all. Keep at it.
  21. If you get one I'd be interested in your straight stock. (delete, someone took care of me.)
