  1. Kinda hurt to do it, lost a percentage point on the mortage, but................................ Just refinanced it and am submiting a copy of the letter to them with the reason for closing out our account. BTW, I have a vat of oil heating on the stove right now
  2. Z No big problem, that was my FIRST ever USPSA match. Once that batch of slugs was shot up, I went back to a 230gr. (had a bunch of 200gr RNFP from CAS). Now I know that if I am going to shoot the CCW, it is scored as a minor. This game is a vacation for me, usually I am running 1-2 CAS matches each month . Speaking of that, it looks like the doc'll say I can shoot pistol this weekend . This should be good since they are not expecting 70+ mph winds THIS weekend.
  3. Z BTDT, Actually it is great for an occasional USPSA shooter who uses Book loads in his shooters. Was an eye opener when we saw what the difference 2+ inches made on major/minor. My Kimber would not make major, but the Norinco did (Ultra carry vs. Govt. Model) using the SAME ammo .
  4. Aiki, Where did you find the documentary of my Friends and Neighbors ? I loved it when I saw this a few years ago and still do lol.
  5. But $1700 for a Buy it Now price?

    Hat backwards?

Tightloop, This has been a great read and I even got some good info out of it . You want to see fun and out of place, you should see me when we took the out of district job in Alameda. Picture this a high desert/Nevada/Oregon Cowboy , Boots, Wranglers etc. taking engineering notes and photos in an area that looks like it came out of a Hip-Hop Video . The only thing to make me more conspicuous was the el-cheapo state car and the Dayglo Safety vest . What is normal to you and me was defenitely NOT there. Just depends on where you are. No problems that trip, just aLOT of looky loos.

    Hat backwards?

Smkshwn, Thanks for the links, Now I know what to tell the Wife what I want for my B-day BTW I do like the Storm-tooper outfit in your avatar. Rich, I am hoping to maybe get out some in the following year, once the shoulder surgery heals, but I am still very active with my first shooting discipline (unhuh) of Cowboy Action Shooting. I may be making a couple of matches down there in So. CA (below Cape Mendecino ) actually looking at the 3-gun matches more. Dress is really no big deal, it's just one more aspect of the games we all play

Wear a Stetson and don't worry about it Seriously what's wrong with a kilt, and where can I get one?
  9. Evening all I am wading into this new (to me) sport with a bit too much enthusiasim (says SWMBO ). I have been competing in CAS for the Past 15 years, 8 of them using a Winchester 1897 Pump for the shotgun. What I am after is that I have not found any real mention of whether or not my CAS shotshell belt that is worn around the waist is leagal or not for 3-gun or multi gun. Part is familiarity breeds comfort and part is not having to get some more new equipment past the wife . Bad enough that I was able to find an 1100 for under $200 (to start). Thanks,
  10. I enjoy Glenfiddich and Glenlevit, Haven't really had an other single malts.
  11. Gotta give the Bullit a second vote! Ice seems to be something that us desert rats/tropic dwellers have to put in anything liquid Spirits @ 110 deg. F in the glass?
  12. Curently working as a Civil Engineering Designer for The Dept. of Transportation in the land of GOOFY enviro laws. Too good a job to leave, esp. with about 10 years of retirment credit . 14. I have to give a BIG +1 to the Bolt action/Single Shot. As a DFG instructor who insists that all of his students shoot, I have seen quite a few "spray and pray" with the 10-22, but take the bolt action 77-22 next to it and hit 5/5 (same sights/targets). There is nothing wrong with the 10-22, it is just that I feel that there are better firearms for learning on. My son will be starting with his grandmother's rolling block (antique single shot) once he is big/responsible enough. Another option would be the Rossi or NEF break action. These are good little rifles, and on some of them, you can get replacement stocks to grow with the boys. Also, I think that the Rossi comes with a .410 shotgun barrel . Will
  15. I've got to throw in my 2 bits on the ORRIGINAL thread . I would defenitely go for the tripple duce. My padre has a Sako Manlicher from the 60's that has been well used but still is sub-moa all day long, every day. In fact, he is still using the same 100+ brass that he bought while HE was in college . I have a 22-250 that will do the same thing at 400+ meters, but it do thump the shooter and uses twice the powder per shot. Another note is that you mentioned the canine issiues around the horse barns, the lesser report can be a big plus esp. if you have neighbors. Will
