  1. I am sure this horse got beat to death already, but how do you feel about synthetic motor oil? We live in Florida, 20F is only in our freezers We have been using synthetic motor oil mixed with a bit of assembly lube. So far, cheap and great results.
  2. It is already released on Call of Duty and its 100% reliable
  3. I really like my PRI gas block, it is very small, the gas block. PRI adjustable gas block under DPMS handguard, middy system. Just showing to show that it fits under no problem.

  5. Please excuse the ignorance, but is the M16 BCG really heavier than the AR15? This is the M16 BCG from Spike Tactical, looks very light to me. What am I missing? Edited: Never mind, found my answer:
  6. I had an NSN in my hands before. I did some research on it an it was a military issued unit. It is NOT counterfeit. http://www.trijicon.com/user/parts/product...mp;categoryID=3 http://www.opticsplanet.net/trijicon-4x32-...a1-ta01nsn.html
  7. Tod, I like your reticle. Basically, it is the EOtech reticle with a tree. Best of both worlds.
  8. Know your ballistic table for your ammo and use holdovers? Do you mean as in float your reticle over the target? I am speaking with zero experience. If drop at 300 yards is 8.3 inches and at 400 its 24 inches, assuming your target is a 10" plate, can you estimate where to put your reticle?

  10. I have shot an M2, an 1100 and an SX2. For me, personally, the SX2 is by far the softest.
  11. What was the problem? Following? Doubles? I have a JP in my other lower. I like it, but doesn't feel as good as the Jard.
  12. Midwayusa had Jard trigger on sale, so I picked up one. I think I paid 125 or so for it. The trigger comes with its own hammer, springs and adjustment screws. There is an adjustment screw for sear engagement, safety, disconnector and for overtravel. They supplied me with a spring for 1.5# pull, but also have other options. In order to install the trigger, I had to use a tap to continue the threads that we use for the grip screw. There is an adjustment screw that goes in first through that hole to adjust sear engagement. They supply you with a shorter grip screw to attach the grip afterwards. Tapping that hole didn't take long at all. I am very impressed with the results so far. I didnt buff, file or polish anything and it is breaking crisp at 1.5, with minimal pretravel and overtravel. I figured I would shoot a few rounds with it and then make adjustments. I haven't test fired it yet, so I am not sure how reliable it is, but I am very impressed with the product for the price. Thought I would share.
  13. +1 Sorry for the basic question. How do you tune the rolling thunder? Is there a write up on it? There is now! I must add that Mr. Benny Hill told me how to do this. I just tuned mine this weekend on the back of my pickup with a cordless drill and 20 rounds of 223. I am a righty so I hold the forearm with my left hand. That left hand is placed as far out front as it can go on the hand guard. The recoil impulse sends the gun the opposite direction of that left hand which is up and right. So I started with the smallest drill bit in my trusty cheapo crafstman drill bit box and made a hole on the 3 o'clock postion of the compensator(or as close to 3 as I could eyeball). I then fired 2-3 rounds at an IPSC target 15-20 yds away and watched the dot in my Accupoint rise to the upper right. I then used the next bit size larger and shot 2-3 more while observing the dot rise and fall. I did this two or three more times until the dot only moved upwards. I then opened up the hoel on the top of the Rolling Thunder one more size and BOOM! No more dot movement. Its a beautiful thing. Here are some pics. Thanks so much!
  14. Could you please elaborate on that? Possibly show pics? Very interested! Thanks in advance.
  15. I like the reticle on the EoTech, a 65 MOA circle and 1 MOA dot.

  17. Just a quick update... I ended up with a middy upper from Rock River, heavy profile. I removed the A2 sight, installed a PRI adjustable gas block and a DPMS vented free floating handguard. I was going to go with JP stuff, but they are way behind and I have the patience of a 2 yr old. Very impressed with the PRI block and DPMS tube for the price. So now the handguard covers the gas block and only the comp sticks out. The weight distribution is much further back and my support hand is very close to the end of the barrel. I have not adjusted the gas block yet, running it full blast. I shot a match tonight, stand and shoot, move and shoot, some open, some tight targets at 50 yards or so, nothing up close. I REALLY enjoyed running this setup, I can't wait to shoot it in closer target type stages. I was able to manipulate the gun much faster. The Y-comp surprised me in a good way, was impressed with it, was very stable, my other upper has a rolling thunder on it. The RO, on the other hand, is going to the dentist tomorrow to check his fillings This upper is on the cheap, meant for club level monthly matches, but I really like it.
  18. Sorry, will be 16" total with comp pinned and soldered. Would an adjustable block and low mass carrier help in that short of a rifle?
  19. ...so our club runs some very short distance (5 yards to 30 yards) stages. Lots of ports, walls, angles, in and out type of shooting. Basically, I can shoot those stages faster with my pistol than a rifle. My normal rifle, 17" SS heavy barrel plus rolling thunder with a Meopta on it, feels a mile long and heavy in those stages. I am setting up another upper for the rifle and need some advice. I have a 16" middy upper. Was thinking of cutting it to 13" and perma-attaching a Y-Comp to it to make 16" total. Then putting EoTech on a Larue mount so irons are co-witnessed at the 1/3. The rifle will be short, quick and double as a tacti-cool for home defense (One of the many guns I have used that excuse for). Doesnt need to be a tack driver, but needs to be reliable. It will not be used to double tap at 50 yards or anything like that. Does the setup make sense? Do you suggest the normal LMOS with adjustable gas block? Or keep it semi-stock?
  20. I have an SX2 with the Nordic mag extension, 8+1. Has anyone experimented with the length of the spring to help the reloads without losing reliability? Can you tell me how many inches the spring sticks out with just the cap off? Or how many coils? Thanks in advance, Shay
  21. So they aim to raise the prices on GM and Chrysler cars? That should help sales Dealerships are like sales people. Why would you fire a sales person that is making you money?
