  1. Revolver with the moonclips in the production legal position? Sounds like fun to watch. Louis
  2. For Bradbury's comments on Moore's basing the movie name on a takeoff of his Fahrenheit 451 take a look here: scifi.com news Louis
  3. How about getting a sample of each of the comps and then figuring out a good way to compare them?
  4. I didn't hear any accuracy claims. Their rimfire guns have a good rep. so I would expect the same in centerfire. Louis
  5. Volquartsen has also come out with a California legal .223 that takes AR mags. They where showing it at the Shot Show. It looked pretty nice, which is a good thing since they where quoting a price of $1800. A couple things I noticed though where that the one there had a comp with gas ports pointing downwards and the mag release was in the same positiion relative to the mag as an AR. Since the hand is back further due to the more conventional stock, you can't just reach out your trigger finger to release the mag. Louis
  6. Also, Derick Martin has been called up for national guard duty in Iraq. The Accuracy Speaks web page has the details, including the new gunsmith. link Louis
  7. SMM3 Gun in Mesa, AZ USPSA Nationals in Reno, NV JP Rocky Mountain 3 Gun in Raton, NM Louis
  8. My friend is using the Hearth clips with his .38 super 686 and has been happy with them. Louis
  9. I just took a look at the direcTV channels. To get The Outdoor Channel you have to go with the premier package. $48 more than the package below it. Louis
  10. It's not just nonUSPSA members that have been wanting a scoped limited rifle division. I'm a life USPSA member who shoots USPSA matches every month and the lack of the recently announced tactical class was one of the reasons I have not been going to USPSA 3gun matches. I have been shooting the SOF/SWAT match, the latest Rocky Mountain 3 gun and our local 3gun matches, all with a scoped rifle and a limited pistol and shotgun. I shot one USPSA 3gun nationals when it was first shot in Las Vegas in 2000 and the combination of being pushed into open class and the poor stage design has led me to skip the last three. With the Reno match being nearby, having a tactical class and hopefully better stages I am planning to attend the next 3 gun nationals. Louis
  11. Called back to Dillon and was initally told the same thing. After I told him that older ones should be warranted he went to check with the supervisor. After that it was exactly as the poseter dillon said. I've got the RMA # and the replacement one will be warranted for a year. Any failure after that and they sell the motors for $27. A big thanks for all the help on this. Louis
  12. The motor on my 10 year old Dillon CV-500 case cleaner has burned out. I talked to Dillon and they do not stock replacement motors and recomend just buying a new one. Does anyone have any experience with replacing the motors on these? Thanks, Louis
  13. Also if you look at the App. for the 3gun nationals in June, you can now select tactical division. Louis
  14. PacMan, With 8 in the tube in a Benelli you should be able to start with 10. One in the chamber, 8 in the tube and one more on the follower. The older M1S90s could and if you look around this forum there are threads on modifying the newer ones so they can. The only reason I can see for adding the 9 round rule is for the benefit of the Remington shooters. Louis
  15. Unfortunately it's not that simple anymore for the SMM3G/IMGA rules. The latest version has added "6.6.10 No shotgun in tactical class may start a stage with more than 9 rounds total in the shotgun." See: http://www.ultimateaccessories.com/smm3g/rules.htm Which raises the question of RM3G using the previous or new rules. Louis
  16. When I look at their website I see a 4A circle and a 4A dot. Is the CQB tactical a different reticle? Thanks, Louis
  17. Erik, Thanks, they had one from Kager Systems. Louis
  18. Does anyone know where I can get a rear sling stud for an AR? This would replace the loop that is there now. Uncle Mikes has one but they only sell it as part of a set. You can see the Uncle Mikes at their site. It is also sold at Brownells. Thanks, Louis
  19. One of the guys I shoot with has converted TEC loaders to work with a Rem. 20 gauge. The shotgun has a full size frame so the bracket works with it. He put PVC tube inserts into the loader tubes to work with the 20 gauge diameter. If the Benelli 20ga. has the same size frame as the 12ga this could work. Louis
  20. It's shown on their web site as a Performance center gun distributed by Bangers. 686 .38 Super Louis
  21. found a good thread on 223 Wylde chamber. National Match Competion -> Wylde Chamber
  22. California Department of Justice. State department in charge of firearms.
  23. The S&W 686 .38 super with a 4" barrel was put on the CA DOJ list last week. Tom and I already have ours ordered. Louis
  24. I'll throw in a nother vote for adding a tactical class. Both my local club have it along with the two major matches I am attending (WC3G and RM3G) If they can all handle it then USPSA should be able to deal with it. The equipment rules can be as simple as same as limited with the addition of a single optic allowed. Possibly an upper limit for power, but in most of the stages I've seen it doesn't help to get above a 4x power, so it probably isn't needed. Louis
  25. I shoot at the same club as George and we now allow bipods in tactical due to the change at the WC3G match. If I remember correctly we limit scope power to 4x. Those with a higher power variable are expected to max out at 4x. We also have stages that require all shooters to use a holster that will retain their pistol while in the prone position. When they are starting with any gun other than the pistol it is holstered empty with the hammer down. Louis
