  1. Way over my head on the tech side. I pretty routinely update my applications. Seems like it would require an app update but what do I know.
  2. Was announced last month. Follows the Single Stack Nats, just like this year
  3. Is there any chance we can just pick one thread to discuss this? Kind of done answering the same question in three different threads

  6. Yep the direct report functionality is almost done (if not already done). It'll be live in time for the new rule book to take place.
  7. Not DNROI but I would say shoot for no score just like having a 175 mm mag.
  8. So as someone voting on the rules, you don't know what states are affected by the rule change? Do I know the intricacies of every states asinine gun regulations, no. I keep up to speed on the laws in my area. I have no idea if NJ has a hard limit or if they allow higher cap mags from a preban perspective. It also applies to Hawaii but they've been dealing with this for years.
  9. Cali is still fine. The only thing this applies to is states where there is a hard capacity limit except for certain groups like LE. If citizens in the state can legally own it they can shoot it. The rule was to prevent LEOs or Military from going to, say New York and smoking everyone with big sticks in Open because everyone else is limited to 10.
  10. There was no reason to deal with the classifiers until the division was voted in. Now that it has been we have almost four months to figure out which ones need to be shelved or adjusted (and Kyle already has a list). It's not that difficult of a fix.
  11. It was briefly discussed but we can only change Division rules once every two years. The earliest this could take effect would be Jan, 2015. No big rush to discuss it now and the meeting was already three hours long. Dave asked for it to be placed on the agenda for the December in person meeting.
  12. As it stands now the rule has no effect on CA. NY is basically the only state it effects. They have a hard limit. CA still has mags that are allowed preban. The rule doesn't apply. If CA goes full retard and only allows LE to have high caps, then it would apply.
  13. Last night. Should be announced today or tomorrow.
  14. There's a pretty decent article in Recoil magazine comparing several of the top AR triggers. Doesn't go much into depth, but it was enough to get me to try the Hiperfire. It's difficult for one person to try the 20 some odd AR trigger choices out there all on their own. I don't have 4K to spend buying one of each to try. I've also found that even the same brand/model of trigger doesn't always feel the same in different guns and over time. Pick one and try it. If you don't like it, sell it on the forum and buy something else. Different people have drastically different preferences when it comes to triggers.
  15. The one that came in the Colt CRP-18 Pro about 18 months ago. It feels very different than the one I picked up this August. I'm not really sure. It has a short reset but the break is fairly long and has a lot of sear movement. Feels like it takes awhile to get through the pull.
  16. Well this runs counter to what everyone seems to be saying.I was surprised by that as well. I think I'm going to try to measure them side by side so I can tell for sure it's not just a perception thing. Overall I still like it better than the JP (which is still excellent). The test units they had at the Pro-Am definitely had a longer reset than the Geisele I've been using. Not a huge amount longer but enough that with a couple test resets I didn't get it all the way out. Need to get a bit of practice in.
  17. Just ordered a 24C. Used the TC1030 code.
  18. How'd it go, just landed at DFW. Still not sure which direction to go.
  19. Where is the squadding link. Can't find it.
  20. Still working out the details on registration. Everyone who came this year will have the opportunity to play again for sure.
  21. Crimson Trace will be holding the 3rd Annual Midnight Three Gun in Bend, OR. If you haven't heard about this match...I don't know how. Crimson Trace puts on an event like no other. Held in the high desert outside Bend, Oregon this is a one of a kind opportunity to come play with with lights, lasers, NV, machine guns and maybe a few new surprises for 2014. All the stages are shot in the dark starting about 9PM each night and going until we finish. Normally around 2-3 AM. Before you start shooting each night we'll feed you the best range food you'll find at any three gun match. (This year was Tri-Tip and Prime Rib). All of it topped off with an awards banquet on Sunday with more great food and some free adult beverages. We'll have more details as the fall goes on but I wanted to get the dates out for everyone to put on their calenders. Dates are August 13 and 14, 2014 for the staff/media match. August 15 and 16, 2014 will be the main match. Awards on August 17, 2014

August August 5-10, 2014 - Rocky Mountain 3-Gun World Championship (http://www.rm3g.com/) - NRA Whittington Center, Raton, NM August 13-16, 2014 - Crimson Trace Midnight 3 Gun - Bend, OR August 29-31 - Noveske Area 2 Multi-Gun Championship - Colorado Rifle Club, Byers, CO September September 18-20 - FNH Multi-Gun Championship - Peacemaker Range, Glengary, WV
  23. This is a good point. As joe sixpack, I'm not sure how i feel about the half-day format (after shooting it for the first time last week). It sure takes alot more of my time, but it gives me a LOT more time to preview and plan all the stages. I'd probably rather shoot 10-stages/day for 3 days and be done with it. Doesn't really matter what I think tho, the match should be appropriate for a national championship, not for my walter-mitty fantasies of rubbing shoulders with the big boys. More importantly, as an RO who is not yet retired, a 5 day event is not really feasible for me. I am probably going to use the same amount of time and money next year to do area 1 and 4 or 5 sectionals. The downside of 10 stages in three days is you can only fit half the number of people into the match. That's the reason for the 1/2 day format. It doubles the number of people that get to shoot the match. A match that can fit 20 stages into 3 days on a half day format for 300 shooters would only be able to allow 150 shooters for the same match in 1 1/2 days. Same thing with a 5 day match on a half day schedule. 30 stages/5 days/600 shooters vs. 30 stages/2 1/2 days/300 shooters. Basic match math. If we're going to combine all the divisions we're going to have more interest than capacity with a full day format for everyone. That said, I hope they come up with a full day option for some people. Otherwise I won't be shooting a Nationals next year. I have a conflict on Sept 27 that I won't get out of. If there isn't a way to shoot it quicker it's going to be my first year since 2001 without shooting a pistol nats.
  24. You have gotta be kidding me, Shred. To access St. George, most people will have to fly into Vegas and then drive in their rental car for two frickin' hours. How is that more accessible? If you're talking about the actual range itself, Desert Sportsman's Club in Las Vegas is extremely accessible from any number of nearby motels. There's no reason to fight the traffic on the strip unless you want to. Or as many people have mentioned to you, just fly into St. George. Personally, I prefer to fly into Vegas because Delta is not my favorite airline. Plus the drive has some incredible scenery. I'd also rather spend two hours at the front end and two hours at the back end of the trip than an hour a day fighting Vegas traffic. Gotta say, I hear the most negative things about St. George from people who have never been there before. Rarely (actually can't think of any) hear them from people who have been. The closest thing is people who say you can't get alcohol there. I've never had any problem at all drinking in St. George. Not sure where people are going that they can't find a drink? McDonalds?
  25. Anybody know if there are any cashless toll plazas between DFW and Jacksboro? Or a way around them? Really don't feel like giving the rental company another $50.00
