  1. Just wanted to make a special sponsor note. When I originally spoke to Cavalry Arms we were just trying to get a couple sets of AR furniture. I got the package today. They really went overboard and sent a lot of really cool stuff including a certificate for a Cav Arms lower. Unfortunately our match booklet is already complete and going to the printer so I can't change it in the book. But I can at least change it here. Cavalry Arms is also a Stage Sponsor for the Area 1 Championship. Thanks guys, we really appreciate it.
  2. Shooters meeting will be from 6:00PM - 8:00 PM on Thurs June 15. We will be giving out some prizes for those attending the shooters meeting. You must be present to win these.
  3. I'll be there. I'm just gonna throw ammo in the truck till the back bumper scrapes
  4. Everett Mastrich, the MD will be doing the squadding. I'll be down at the West Coast Production match. If you have any squadding requests beyond what was on the application, please send them to Everett at emastrich@airefco.com. Thanks
  5. I talked to CED a week or two ago and they said mid June for a ship date.

  7. I hope it goes. My check was cashed a couple months ago but I never heard anything. My shooting buddy that sent his a couple days before got an email confirmation but nothing on my end.
  8. The info that I got was All of the Above. However, it's a consideration only, not set in stone. I've heard from several people that think the DOH is just as fast as a race holster. And that the only holster to have in Production is the DOH. Apparently these folks think that is a good enough reason to get rid of it. I don't. I think that anytime there are a vocal minority of people that want a rule change the BOD should consider it. Otherwise they're just sticking their heads in the sand.
  9. I'm pretty sure that I saw Dave Sevigny working a stage at Area 6 earlier this month. I'm pretty sure that I've put in about 200 hours towards Area 1 so far, and I'm pretty sure that there are a large number of other M and GM shooters who work their butts off towards match administration, management and ROing. I'm also pretty sure that in your neck of the woods there's a guy up in Frostproof that hasn't gotten to shoot the Florida Open, at least in several years, because he's putting it on. Very few matches reward only the upper classes. That's why most class and category winners will walk somewhere towards the top as well at the Nationals, Area 2, Area 3 (at least in 2005 when I shot it) and several other matches. At Area 1 everybody, regardless of ability will have the same shot at the prize table. As far as GM's being sponsored, the majority aren't. Of the GM's and M's that are sponsored, most of them don't begin to cover the expenses that they put in to get to that level. One of the reasons that these folks are able to travel across country is by selling what they win on the prize table. I know that is the same for everyone that shoots out of their area. But I also know that alot of matches like to attract the GM's and I like shooting against them because it gives me something to shoot for. If you don't like matches with order of finish prize tables, there are a lot that don't have them. As far as whether GM's "deserve" them more? You're going to find a wide difference of opinion on that.
  10. Erik, they instituted a new height requirement on GM shooters. You have to be this tall to ride with the GM's. Sorry dude.
  11. I'm sure it has a lot to do with the suppressor. The can maintains the pressure in the barrel a bit longer. I don't know that a comp wouldn't do something similar. I know that we don't have any problem with the 147 gr winchesters out of the same gun at over 150 Pf. Just a suggestion to get some to test before ordering them by the case.
  12. I have heard from at least one BOD director that this rule is in consideration. They haven't made any decisions but now is the time to let your Area Director know how you feel. If you want the DOH holster to still be legal, call or email your AD and tell him your opinion. If you want it illegal, just stay quiet and keep your opinion to yourself The BOD has their own opinions of how they think things should be, but they do listen to the folks in their area as well. The forums are great for discussing things but make sure you let the decision makers know how you feel as well.
  13. I get most of my stuff from Rene at Speed Shooters. www.speedshooter.com
  14. This is going to take a few posts but here are the Area 1 Sponsors. We have about $90,000.00 worth of product that we're giving away at the match. If you haven't signed up yet, get to it. Match Sponsors Electronic Shooters Protection Gerber Legendary Blades Howard Leight I-Shot Schuemann Barrels Springfield Armory Smith and Wesson Staff Match Sponsors Blackwater Targets Front Sight Firearms Training Institute Heckler & Koch Unique-Tek Division Sponsors Open M2i Custom Tactical Montana Gold Bullet Limited DPMS SKB Cases Limited 10 Oakley POF-USA Production Beretta Blackhawk Single Stack Action Target Nighthawk Custom Revolver Militec-1 I'll try to get the Stage Sponsors up later tonight.
  15. Nope, the match is absolutely not worth $235.00. In fact if any of you are thinking of going think again. Don't even bother to send an application in. (Hopefully enough people will believe this BS and skip it so that I can get in, cause I'm definitely going)
  16. Wait until they get the deal with Country Inn though. It get's a little expensive without the agreement as match hotel. I think they discount it around $25.00 an night for the match.
  17. Mine is in the mail now. I missed this last year because I dragged my feet. Hopefully I won't miss this one for lack of an Overnight Express letter.
  18. What type of feeding problems are you having. Where are the rounds hanging up?
  19. Be careful with this stuff. We were running it out of an MP5-SD. The round was high enough pressure that the case flowed into the chamber flutes. Made some cool ridges on the out side of the case, but that can't be a good thing.
  20. The gun comes with Novak sights on it. Did they say if it used the same dovetail as anything else? I really don't like the Novak sight setup.
  21. I think it uses the same cut as the S&W 1911 sights. Heine makes sights for this cut. Might give them a call to make sure though.
  22. I just got off the phone with Chris Lynch with AlumaGrips. In addition to sending some very nice hats and certificates good for product, AlumaGrips is making a cash donation to the match as well. The extra money will go to the winner of the Single Stack Division. The winner of Single Stack will receive $250.00 in cash in addition to a trip to the prize table. Right now there are a bunch of folks registered for L-10 but very few in Single Stack. Might be a good idea to dust off some 8 round mags and shoot the new division.
  23. 1. Glock 17 2. N/A 3. 9mm 4. Rem UMC 115 Gr. Factory 5. Warren Sights/Sevigny Competition (that I got at last years Area 6) 6. Blade Tech DOH 7. Great match and challenging stages. Feel the power of the bubblegum.
  24. Sorry, I've been away at Area 6. The food vendor is the Alliance for Retarded Citizens, (ARC of Washington County). A Google search should pull them up. They provide assistance with education, housing and generally aid the quality of life for retarded persons. If you don't think it's PC, maybe you could bring it up with them at the match. They have a professional setup for catering and it sounds like it should work out very well. They will also be selling soda and drinks provided by Pepsi at no cost. The proceeds from these sales will be split between the non-profit and the Columbia Cascade Junior program. The Junior program is sending about 6 juniors to the Nationals in Tulsa. As far as working a stage. We will have Stage CRO's and hopefully RO's as well. Competitors will have to tape and set steel on most stages. We're working on a deal to have the Explorers from my Sheriff's Office work the range as well to assist with this but it's not confirmed yet. I'll check on the RV parking. I know there used to be a camping area at the range but I'm not sure if it's accessible since they re-did the range.
