  1. I've been following the threads praising the green bullets and wanted to give them a try. And please don't take anything I say as a knock against the product - it's not intended that way. I've only been reloading for about a year now (not a complete noob but not the most knowledgeable either) so please forgive my ignorance. If I load them shorter they still have to pass through the chamber even if they are not sticking right? So will the larger diameter (thicker coating) cause any damage to the chamber? I wouldn't think so, the steel being harder than the coating, but could the coating erode the steel over time? As a side note the Precision 185's I've been loading measure .3995 at the case mouth whereas the Bayous are coming in at .4015 - .402 (both with an AOL of 1.140). Bayou's coating is definitely thicker and I believe that's why they're not fitting the case gauge the way I'm used to seeing.
  2. I ordered samples of the Bayou 180's and 155's and am having the same issue as the OP. These 180's are loaded to 1.140 for my XDM. I've dropped them into the chamber and they fit just like the first pic above. I've also hand cycled the slide, and the slide went fully into battery, but when ejecting the round it did not release smoothly - it was stuck - mildly, but stuck. I'm not concerned with test firing these but will there be any issues/damage to the chamber in the long term if I continue them? In case it's not obvious the second pic is with the chamber gauge turned upside down, and as noted earlier in the thread the ogive is where the coated bullet is too wide for the gauge.
  3. Installed the lasted Android version to my Evo 4g. I set up a stage, scored it and noticed that No Shoots and Procedurals do not show on the Summery page when reviewing but are present on the Details page.
  4. Don't know that this will help, but my XDM .40 (4.75") using Precision 185's loading 2.9gr of Clays at 1.130 gives me a PF of 145 and the load runs the stock 18lb spring.
  5. They expect to have it sanctioned within the next couple of weeks.
  6. Unfortunately I have a schedule conflict with this one - gonna have to stay closer to home and try the 2012 Texas Open in Waco.
  7. Cy, Do you carry the pistol centered on your body? Can you rotate the holster clock-wise on the body and carry more appendix style instead of center of the body line?
  8. Springfield will exchange the mags under warranty (or at least they used to a couple of years ago). With that many mags sticking they may request you send the pistol in for them to take a look.
  9. These results were using the 200 grain bullets, is that correct?
  10. Thanks Eric, that's what I was looking for.
  11. I've been interested in a couple of the used 2011's that have been listed for sale recently but my lack of knowledge/understanding has kept me from acquiring one of them. I shoot USPSA and IDPA and with a limited budget would need the pistol to pull double duty. So, how difficult is it to switch from a bull barrel to the bushing; is it as simple as having a new barrel and bushing fitted or does the slide have to be modified as well?
  12. Springer Precision stocks the Pistol Gear extended pads - the 140s and the 170s.
  13. Somewhere in this monstrosity of a thread, Benny notes that he bends the barrel to correct POI, at least some of the time. IIRC he also mentions moving the clamp to adjust the POA/POI.
  14. I dont have the magazine... is it approved in both calibers? I'm planning to use the 40 in production (and just load my ammo to minor) I like the bigger holes, and can share all the shells with my limited gun which is also a 40 Last time I looked on the USPSA website they were both listed.
  15. That appears to have been trimmed.
  16. You forgot Canyon Creek and Rich The shortest and lightest always gets left out. Rich Rich, How light can you go and keep a crisp break (the proverbial glass rod snapping)?
  17. I picked up a 930 a couple of weeks ago. The first thing I noticed was how loose the trigger assembly is and am a little disappointed about it (my OCD kicking in). How did you secure the shims - or is it necessary to?
  18. My Comp-Tac arrived yesterday - I have not had a chance to put it on the belt and give it a whirl just yet, but the fit & finish are great. You cannot beat the quality or customer service Comp-Tac provides.
  19. If it's a new gun the slide stop is probably pretty stiff - all of my XDs started that way. They ease up after some use (sort of like new mags).
  20. I can see that with a compact and a regular service size pistol, but for a competition gun? CDP in IDPA is the only place I can see this fitting in - or am I missing something?
  21. Had to go and take a look myself. Is there a competition demand for the 5.25 in .45? I would have thought the .40 would be next.
