  1. philg80,, Is the cap on the +5 Nordic tube one of the extended versions or standard length?
  2. I believe his post mentioned it is a Nordic +5.
  3. It is a 24" 930 Turkey, non ported, blued, vent rib, with fiber optic adjustable sights straight from Mossberg factory. It SHOULD have been parkerized, but that was my fault in ordering. Thanks for the info. I've been reading a lot on the forum lately about 3 Gun shotguns and have about decided to pick up an auto loader. From following along on several threads about 930s I was under the impression that the only non-ported barrels were a special order for Benny - so you may have just saved me about $100.00 (what appears to be the going rate for having a barrel cut down and threaded).
  4. What barrel did you end up with?
  5. Thats what I did. My 930 is 21.5 from Receiver to end of barrel. The +5 is 1 3/8 inch longer than the barrel. Hope that helps. Thanks, that will help me size the barrel! Alright gentlemen, I have the 3d model of the lifter gate done... Now its just a matter of getting it produced... The place I was going to use to produce it via 3d printing is complaining because of one of the dimensions... I can fix it pretty easy, but I am going to see what I can find elsewhere... In the mean time, here is the 3d model... (Oh, and when I get these produced, you guy can have them at cost, I have no desire to make money off of this stuff, its a hobby) So where do I add my name to the list of takers?
  6. Yes, VERY was an understatement for sure. I'm going to trying another powder VERY soon.
  7. For my XDM 40 I use 2.6 gr. of Clays with 180 gr. lead @ 1.125 OAL with a PF of 132 - 136 for IDPA. My only complaint is that it is VERY dirty.
  8. I overlooked it before, but an ejector would be another piece I'd add.
  9. Whewhoo! We have a winner. Nice work! It's the only shirt I've seen with horizonatal button holes. And nice wording of your answer to cover either situation - it's all of them. Please email bigJoni your shipping address: orders@brianenos.com ... and she'll send you the book Monday. be Thanks Brian!
  10. Yep, that's what I meant. I bought an inexpensive one to keep in my parts kit for my XDs.
  11. One or all of the button holes are sewn horizontally instead of vertically.
  12. Field, Your pics are not working. When using the mallet you need to lay the slide across the palm of your hand, not a table, with the top of slide against the palm. As for the spring, you can use a 1911 mainspring as the removal tool.
  13. If it's an XD/XDM the extractor is just pressed in. Of all things a 1911 main spring is perfect for extracting the extractor (good size and shape to slip in and under). You can also use a rubber mallet - invert the slide give it a few good whacks above the extractor and it will pop out.
  14. I'd add a striker to the list.
  15. Anybody know what the stock weight is for the XDM40?
  16. I have an XD9 and XDM40, both with triggers by Scott Springer, and they are as sweet as they can be for a striker fired pistol.
  17. Just last week I chronoed three loads using Clays and Bullet Works 180gr. with COAL at 1.125 from an XDM. With 2.6 grains of Clays I had an average PF of 132 with 10 rounds. With 2.8 grains of Clays I had an average PF of 139 with 10 rounds. With 3.0 grains of Clays I had an average PF of 145 with 10 rounds. Edit to add CCI SMR primers.
  18. I'm shooting an XDM40 with a Springer trigger job (roughly 2.5 lbs) and have not issues with CCI or Magtech, both SMR.
  19. Absolutely!!! And I'll be setting it up next week to run a few loads (borrowed from a family member). In the mean time I picked up a pound of Clays a couple of days ago and loaded up a few cartridges today; it metered VERY well - so well in fact that several times I weighed ten throws and I'll be darned if it wasn't EXACTLY 10 times the amount of the load. I'll be trying several of them on some steel tomorrow and I'm hoping the clouds of smoke will not be anything like the Accurate No. 2 I shot last week with lead.
  20. I'm purchasing some Clays tomorrow to work up a few loads with lead, molly coated and jacketed bullets. What COL are all of you using? These will be out of an XDM for myself.
  21. Thanks to s-gorilla45 and GrumpyOne for your input. I tried me very first reloaded cartridges last night and everything functioned fine. The coughing and hacking have almost stopped, and if the smoke finishes clearing by later today I'll be able to take a look at the targets and maybe get an idea of accuracy.
  22. Both great with naked lead. Jman, I believe you were in every thread I read advocating both.
  23. An XDM. As for the Accurate - with the number of lead bullets I have I think I'll try some Solo 1000 and/or Unique (based on the reading I've been doing here).
  24. I purchased a used 550B earlier this year (which I finally got around to setting up last week) and with the purchase received roughly 3,000 .40 cal 180gr Bullet Works Bevel Base lead bullets and a pound of Accurate Arms No.2 that I'd like to put to good use. Looking at the info on Accurate Powders website they show (for lead): 185 LC RS SWC 4.6 - 829 to 5.1 - 942 @ 1.12 Would substituting the 180 using 4.6 gr @ 1.12 be low enough to start with safely?
