Based on those rules I would say that a 1" spacer should not be allowed even if the outside of the holster is within the new 3" limit.

The “other divisions” with 15 rounds is only SSP. Whether or not that is a good idea is a whole ‘nother discussion.

Is there an official announcement of Limited Optics and its division requirements anywhere? I can’t find it on the USPSA website and I haven’t seen anything in the emails from USPSA (and I’m not reading all 56 pages of this thread again to look for it).

14 stages in one day does make for a very long day. On stage four the wall was easy (and easy to do safely) and fun. There were no secret rules. It was run under USPSA rules with the exception of additional revolver divisions. All stages including stage four were used in the USPSA sanctioned Western States Single Stack Championship on Saturday and Sunday with no changes. The squads did RO themselves. This match is a low key addition to WSSSC and has always been run that way. I don't know if it was stated on the Practiscore registration page as it it might be one of those "everybody knows" things that gets left out. I believe that the fact that there was no lunch and that it was one day was on the registration page. 14 stages in one day does make for a very long day.

The rule says the width of the mag and it is the distance from the belt not the body so I'd think that most any carry type holster would work. But I'm not sure any of the specifications matter now that 8.1 mandates that MDs make judgement calls on whether or not the equipment meets some pretty vague "practical" criteria. Yes, because adding Open and Classic divisions to an otherwise USPSA rules match causing it to already have more shooters signed up than were at USPSA Revo Nationals this year is clearly a bad sign. If a sanctioning body is important to you that’s your business, but running an unsanctioned match is hardly a sign of the end times. The match came about because the Western States Single Stack MD started shooting revolver and thought it would be fun to add a revolver match to the match weekend. I believe that the revo match was added in 2015. They recently added the outlaw divisions because shooters asked for them.

It is run under USPSA rules but with additional equipment divisions for open and Classic. That’s the extent of the outlawishness. Same stages as the fully legal USPSA level II Western States Single Stack Championship that follows on Saturday and Sunday.

Well, as the IDPA rules require a story if it’s not a Standards stage, I don’t see that happening. 6.1.1.1 Scenario Stages represent a civilian self-defense situation that could actually happen. Scenario Stages must have a written scenario description reflecting this and will use appropriate props and targets with Unlimited Scoring. It’s pretty much irrelevant anyway as the short story length scenario shouldn’t contain any actual instructions so just don’t read it.

How is allowing them as part of the WSB problematic?

It's not in the rule book, it is in the Match Administration Rules which is described as "a rule book supplement" on its first page. M-5.3 On the day of the match, your age determines the category: M-5.3.1 Junior Member - 12th birthday through 17 years of age M-5.3.2 Typical Member -18th birthday through 49 years of age M-5.3.3 Senior Member - 50th birthday through 64 years of age M-5.3.4 Distinguished Senior Member - 65th birthday and older

And, as the OP said, under 8.6.2 Magazine Carriers the new rule book says “8.6.2.1 Must be suitable for concealed carry and all-day continuous wear.” How does making the SO show the specific subjective rule help here? Maybe it gets it bumped up to the MD but still just a judgment call that isn’t valid anywhere else. Best thing is probably to ask the Area Coordinator for his opinion on the specific mag carrier that you want to use and see what he says. Then you at least have an answer that is valid for more than one club.

I bought black by default until I got old. Now I only buy holsters and mag pouches in bright colors so I can find them when they try to hide in the shadows in my gear bags.

It may just be my ear shape but most of the time the skull screw earpieces compress and block all sound. When they don’t collapse they work well but it doesn’t happen often enough for me to be able to use them. And I do need the skull screws to get a good seal.

Not sure where you get that figure. The 1st Sunday ICORE match at Rio regularly maxes out at its COVID limit of 40 shooters while the 2nd Sunday match at PRGC gets 20 to 30, and the 4th Saturday match at PRGC usual pulls in at least 20.

We have moved the SW Regional to the spring for this year and it is almost upon us. Who calls it a "dry table"? I suppose if you are going to make up a name you could try and make up rules to go along with it, but I've never heard that name.

And if you really did mean to ask in the IDPA Rules section (where they are officially called "Non-Threat" targets, not "no-shoots") it is still per hit with no limit: 4.10.2 Each hit on a Non-Threat adds 5 seconds to the shooter’s score.

Still not seeing how "All shots must be through ports" as an alternative to setting up a buttload of walls that you can see through is giving you a script to follow? To be more clear on the walls "that you can see through", what I'm asking is how is a freestanding port really different from a wall with a port in it - if you can see through the wall? The wall isn't a vision barrier so you can see what's coming up the same as with freestanding port.

What is gained by using ports in walls that you can see through over just specifying that you must shoot through freestanding ports?

I'd like to look into this myself but more information would help: approximate date, city, name of the "online newspaper", or anything else that would help me find it.
