  1. I have a Kramer strong side belt made of horsehide for my m&p 9c which I have carried 8+ hours a day for over a year. Has been the best holster I have ever owned. Supremely comfortable and very well made. (No, they arent cheap but I got this free with a certificate won at a match).

So I am at the gym today and receive an email on my iphone... IT was from BE forum and posted by Flexmoney...entitled " hey NEW guy...., NO ONE LINERS...to get your post count up !!!" I read it and immediately start panicking...I am much more of a lurker than poster,(but I read and learn every day), I have sold and bought a few things over the last year and a half or so...so I cannot figure out for the life of me what I did to piss off Flex and can't think of anything I have sold in the last 5-6 months. I close the email, still puzzled and contunue with another set...then it hits me and I open it again. WHEW, it is a thread and not sent to me specifically... (edited for crappy typing)
  4. My dept issues M&P 9's (and some 9c's) and we have seen some issues with Winchester NT frangible ammo. My issued m&p would only fire approx 1 in 5 the other day. After much consultation with Smith, we believe the problem may be ammo related, specifically the primers...sent a buch back to Winchester to be evaluated... Colin PS, replaced my striker spring and she runs fine again...even with the NT...who knows.
  5. Your mag looks awesome. I'm specifically looking for someone with knowledge and skill at tuning SVI tubes to work reliably with Bolen innards.
  6. While I have a set of Howards mags sold through SC, I decided to buy SV tubes and Bolen springs, followers and base pads. I have not even assembled all of them into mags, but the two I have work, just not nearly as smoothly as my HSMITH mags. So, my question is: Does anyone have a suggestion as to who to contact about tuning my new mags or should I just store them until Howard goes back to tuning? Thanks, Colin
  7. Yeah, I put the STI tube in the pic for comparison
  8. I picked up a box of goodies today and inside were several mag tubes... I think they are SVI 38 tubes but they are slightly shorter than my HSMITH STI 140 Tubes...so what are they? and what are they worth? All are used but in very good shape.
  9. my .02 No matter what happens it's always better to be judged ny 12 than carried by 6 If you use force up to and including deadly force, you need to be able to clearly articulate why you did so. Whether you tell the investigating cop or whomever at the time of the incident, a day later, through and attorney or whenever is your decision. Self-defense is an intentional act and an affirmative defense to murder, remember this! As a homicide detective and primary investigator of police involved uses of deadly force I have investigated too many homicides to count and at least 20 police involved uses of deadly force. I tell other police officers several things when they ask my opinion. First, it is my job to figure out what happened, no matter who it favors. Second, IF (and that's a big IF) you know in your heart you did nothing wrong and your actions are justified the you only help yourself by making a well thought out statement. On the other hand, if you are unsure or you know you did something you shouldn't have or can't explain then you should ask for an attorney. I am always amazed at the % of people, even professional police officers that are unable to explain in clear concise terms why the did X. If someone tries to hurt you for example, you hurt them in return or attempted to hurt them in return because you were afraid you were going to be hurt or killed...YOU WERE AFRAID! How hard is that? Anyway, tangential rant there. My point is simply this, you have to assess the situation and make a decision when involved in a incident such as this. I know the political climate, the position of the prosecutor's office and police department where I live and work, so I know if I justifiably use deadly force I will gladly tell them what I did and why. However, that is a decision I have made after carefully evaluating everything and everyone involved I am able to.
  10. Thanks for putting on a great match! This was my first "major" match and it was an absolute blast! Well run and great stages! Thanks again
  11. This is something we all struggle with/work at, I believe. I, for one am at a point where I need to learn to do the things that need to be done subconsciously, "just do them" rather than tell myself to do them or think about doing them. In response to Howard's post about world class shooters being able to score a stage w/o looking at it after and the response about remembering every shot afterward, I would guess it isnt so much about remembering where every shot went but more about knowing which shots were not A's because of the ability to call every shot as it happens. I shot the best stage of my brief shooting career this past sunday and I knew as soon as I was done shooting, it was all A's and a (for me) great time.
  12. Colin? Do you ride Caesar's Creek? Race Butler? Your name sounds familiar... Hard to argue with the blur too I do ride Caesars. Dont race tho. Also ride Idlewild, any anything else close
  13. I'm not sure either but I am still interested in a group send in to get the quantity discount either this coming winter or when I get the $ together to order a backup gun from Chuck and Dan

As a police officer for a "big" city department, I would just like to say; "GIVE 'EM HELL!" Best of luck, I hope make them look like the fools they are.
  15. So I picked up a 126mm SVI tube (for some reason) and now I'd like to find a basepad to bring it to 140...does such an animal exist, cause I can't find it. The longest I have found is the Grams 11mm...which I think adds ~3 rounds? Colin PS: I tried searching hereabouts too with no luck
  16. That's the beauty of the Blur as well. the design of the rear suspension locks it out when you pedal, its the fastest and best handling bike I have ever ridden and I have ridden a whole lot of 'em! The Epic is also an amazing bike, esp when coupled with the brain shock.
  17. Here are mine... Polished Santa Cruz blur with full XTR, Mavic Crossmax tubless wheelset, etc. and my road bike, an Aegis AroSvelte
  18. Brownells still has some
  19. Thanks. I just bought some Alaway last week...but can always use more when it's FREE!
  20. The one thing they all forgot to mention is that once you start, there is no going back...the addiction takes over and all your spare time and money will quickly disappear! WELCOME!
