  1. I like these Prato's I got from CPWSA. Awhile back I broke my frames inserting a lens and they replaced the frames for $10. At $65 bucks they are a pretty good deal. Though my wife did just buy me a pair of the Iridium Oakley's at the mall...
  2. I have been thinking about doing that but thought they might come out fused together, thanks for the tip
  3. I don't know the round-count, but it's been around awhile. Thanks for the feedback, it is much appreciated. Scott
  4. All, I've been thinking about getting into Open for a while. I recently came across a blue'd Limcat with one big-stick for $3,000 and was wondering if this would be considered a reasonable deal. Thanks, Scott
  5. Depending upon where you stay, you don't really need a car; rent mopeds. I recommend staying in one of the smaller places on the north end of Duval street.
  6. You could try one of these: http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&productId=54437&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=46303&training= I tried one out for a while and liked it, but determined I prefer a slightly smaller grip.
  7. When using a Pro Chrony outdoors in the shade on a sunny day, does providing cover over the screens help get more correct readings?
  8. I was waiting to sign up until I figured out whether or not I'm working the match. I plan to shoot Revo.
  9. I'm thinking you are correct I think I'll use WST for Minor .40 loads and WSF for major. Scott
  10. Thanks for the replies. OAL is 1.145" Chrono velocity for two strings was: 1012 fps with a STD of about 10. and regarding WST being too fast (and I'm not arguing just looking to understand the data) it is listed as slower than Titegroup and Solo1000 on all the burn rate charts I can find. I may switch to WSF as I have quite a bit of it, but I find it doesn't meter as well and has a higher STD across my chrono.
  11. Aw... I was so planning on this... well, maybe I'll shoot the tactical shotgun match at River Bend on Sunday instead. Looking forward to an ICORE match sometime!
  12. Approximating a load I found here, http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=99380, I am using Zero 165grain TCFM, 5.1 grains WST, OAL 1.44 with Winchester Small Pistol primers out of a stock Glock 35. The load seemed to be accurate, off-hand through a chrono at 25 feet in the A-zone and recoil was pleasant. My question is about pressure. Looking at the primers, there seems (to me) to be some flow around the firing pin but the primers don't seem to be flattening out. I've attached some pictures and would appreciate the views of people more experienced than I on signs of dangerous pressure. These pictures are big so it may take some time to load. I left them big to provide the best close-up view.
  13. Thanks. I plan on being there... what time does he shootin' start?
  14. Worked like a champ. I do think I'll order one from Brownell's or Numrich and replace it at some point as it looks quite worn. Thanks!
  15. Thanks for all the help on this issue. I finally diagnosed the issue and it is: The frame lug is loose in the frame and can rotate a bit from vertical to about 10:00 (counter clockwise) from vertical. It seems to me the lug needs to be staked into place. Any advice on how to stake the frame lug? I have some mechanical ability but am not sure the best way to go about it. Thanks again.
  16. Happy Birthday Bob. It was a pleasure having dinner with you at the Nats.
  17. Interesting replies! I was thinking of shooting in Production only because I'm usually the only Revo and it's lonely shooting against myself But I'm shooting a spur-less 625 so I suppose it's not legal
  18. Do they have to be behind the hip like magazines?
  19. I thought hammer mounted fireing pins are desirable?
  20. I'm interested in shooting an ICORE match... but I"m not an ICORE member nor do I know much about the rules. I've been shooting a 625 in USPSA for the past year... will USPSA gear be acceptable? Thanks, Scott
  21. I purchased Ready Tactical from Chris Patty. I've only used them in practice but they seem to work well.
  22. Thanks for the feedback... I'm going to start focusing on how I close the cylinder during a stage... more finesse couldn't hurt.
  23. What causes causes extractor run-out? About a year ago I purchased a lightly used 625-3 with a 5" barrel, the extractor rod had no visible run-out. Approximately 4k rounds later, it has noticeable run-out. When shooting a stage I'm not concerned about gently closing the cylinder; I'm just focused on completing the reload. Am I applying too much force? Thanks, Scott
