  1. Where do you think IPSC got the idea from? It started in USPSA first as a Practical/Tactical division that tried to get the gun manufacturers involved with sponsorship , they changed the name to production to not have the custom built guns that were in open and limited at the time. Sold it to the masses as come and shoot in this division we’re your duty/polymer frame gun isn’t at a disadvantage, only basic internal modifications can be made, it should look stock from the outside. Then after years of being asked, can I do this to my gun? Can I add this to my gun? NROI has thrown their hands up and taken the stance there is nothing stock about stock car racing and applied it to shooting.
  2. I have shot in every division except L10 and Revo, I don’t care what division people shoot or why they do it. I just don’t get the mentality, hey would should make the round capacity higher with these production division pistols when the same thing can already be accomplished shooting Limited. Nobody says you have to put base pads and run 140mags, that’s just the max. You want to shoot 15 round production to practice for IPSC, cool, sign up Limited, shoot minor and load your mags up to 15. Why does everybody else have to change?
  3. The old adage “it’s the Indian, not the arrow” holds no matter what division you shoot in. You might jump up a few places running a dot locally but not going to make a difference if you go to bigger matches.
  4. Besides glass, isn’t the mounting different? Different footprint?
  5. You can pretty much do whatever you want to gun so the 10 round restriction is the only difference between limited minor without basepad or 140mm mags. Is 5 rounds going to be a game changer to division?
  6. What’s left to do to the gun besides adding optics and a comp?
  7. Start around 6-8 quarters and test it for your grip and whatever load your shooting.
  8. Most of the guys I know short stroking can’t lock back in the bolt catch so not a problem. My lower doesn’t even have a bolt catch. YMMV
  9. That would been an awesome achievement, I don’t know if it’s every been done? I think maybe Max Michel did it, don’t know of any others.
  10. People on different squads will shoot different blocks of stages so the stage points are not balanced throughout the days.
  11. Someday you will have to take ibuprofen just like the rest of us.
  12. Not almost, he has taken every Area match so far this year, yeah I know Area 2 is in November.
  13. Go ahead and ask for a calibration say a couple of people shoot and wait for popper to fall and then look at RO...RO just showed the timer to them Last year there was just a speed shoot stage that the poppers were slow to fall but most people double tripled tapped to drive down popper activators anyway.
  14. If you make Production a 15 round capacity division, you basically make it a 9mm only as you will cut out anybody shooting 40 minor or even 45. Yes, there are some people that shoot 40 minor for production. You would also push away any crossover from idpd like ssp shooters. I know retired police that shoots production with a Glock G21 just because he wants to stay proficient. If you want to load up mags, nothing stopping you from shooting Limited minor.
  15. CRP or Tuned Edge pistols have not been available for some time now but it definitely was a good deal if you can find one. If all you’re going to shoot is 3gun then shoot it. I wouldn’t spend $400 on reliablity package, if the gun doesn’t run I’d get rid of it. Sounds like you want a 2011, so just get what you want.
  16. Saw this happen at an Area match and shooter was moved to Open. Carry Optic shooter Went down for prone and mag pouches moved forward of hip, when they got up and holstered, the CRO notified them of equipment violation.
  17. No, unless you change the trigger bar, the trigger springs are different.
  18. We had to throw out stages and everyone got a 0 on classifier that were shoot with incorrect start position. Sucks, but that’s what you have to do. Better than having to zero everybody.
  19. Since the shooter only had 3 scores, they would still be unclassified. Then when the scores for the 6 classifier scores go in, at that points I think they will just use the best 6. Then as you continue to shoot they look at the latest 8 and take top 6. If any are duplicates, you get the higher even if it was shot early, a worse more recent run doesn’t count against you.
  20. The 90% won’t get thrown out since it was used in initial classification. As an example, if he had shot one more match and had 4 classifiers, those classifiers would have been used to come up with initial classification then the classifier match score of 90 would of got thrown out most likely for being too high.
  21. Have you measured bullets? Maybe the bullets are slightly larger in diameter.
  22. Classification uses the highest 6 of most recent 8. But for your initial classification, you only need 4. So in the example of OP, the June one wouldn’t be included assuming no duplicate stages were shoot.
  23. If I want to practice reloads, I shoot production. If I want to shoot a dot and reload, I shoot Open. PCC is pretty much an unlimited division, why try and put limits on it now just because you have chosen to shoot a platform that limits your mag choice to 30 rounds? I agree with you that 60+ mag is not necessary but there is no mag limit. And if you need 60 rounds to make 32 required hits, that’s not really practical either.
  24. I don’t run 50+ mags in uspsa matches and the specialty matches I have shot, there is always a spot to reload. Making people reload just to reload does nothing for a platform where wether you run Glock, colt or mpx, you have options to carry up to 40rds in a stage with simple addition of a basepad. On a large field course with 32 rounds, I only load my mag up to 38 rounds most of the time anymore. If I have to do s reload on a stage I’ve lost or had a gun malfunction.
