  1. Hi all, I plan to purchase a new AR15, and I wanted to know what's the most used barrel length these days. Is it 20 inches ? 18 inches ? 16 Inches ? I'm looking very hard at an 18 inches long barrel, 1/8 twist Stainless from Lothar Walther. Is it a good choice ? Thanks in advance.
  2. By the way, what's is the most used barrel length these days ? 20 inches ? 18 inches ? 16 inches ? I plan on purchasing a new AR and I'm torn between different barrel length.
  3. Nicolas : Oberland OA15 have some propietary dimensions, especially for the flash hider/compensator. This is not compatible with other brands, unless you get the barrel turned down and re threaded. You can also consider Sabre Defence through BGM.
  4. I want one I want one I want one I want one I want one ! ! ! ! Gorgeous !
  5. I Run SVI and STI tubes in my pistols without any modification. My guns have the new signature stainless grip. The STI mags are my training mags, and I did nothing on them.
  6. Everything is said ! Brandon is very helpful and very responsive. He's a great help and knows the pistols very well, and into great details ! By the way, SV Rocks.
  7. The springs in my MecGar single stack magazines are designed that way.
  8. Very bling bling, but the look is awesome. How hard is the coating to take off the parts ?
  9. Brandon explained the why of grip cracking with the STI frames. It's about tolerances. I think a specially made version of the grip for STI was in the making, but I don't know about its status today. I run STI mags as my training mags in three different pistols, all with SV Stainless Signature grips, and they works perfect, all I had to do was to modifiy my base pads which were too wide for the SV magwell.
  10. My .2cts : The new SV mag is contacting the bottom of the frame or the grips nuts. Chamfer the bottom of the frame, same with the grip nuts. I had to do it in order to use Rescomp and Brazilian mags for my IPSC standard pistols. My pistols have the new stainless grips.
  11. Try on make your own mind. I've never liked them, wether on standard or open pistols. Lots of top european standard shooters tried one, and now runs their guns without. As said, look at Rob Leatham, Travis Tomasie, Taran Butler or Manny Brag, none of them have a thumbrest on their guns....
  12. Juergen is a nice guy to deal with. The analogy with cars perfectly describe the difference between SV and STI. As for the breech face, I've loctited them and never worried about. I check the tightness from time to time. I've shot tens of thousands of rounds with SV pistols without any problem. SV are custom build, so it takes times but the result trully worth the wait. From discussions with Brandon Strayer, lead time is an average 12 months.
  13. Depending on the manufacturer, they comes in different colours. I've shot blue ones for Dynamic Arms so far, but a Czech manufacturer called ARES make them in a wide variety of coulours, ladies can have pink bullets, guys too ;-) From what I know, bullets are placed on a rack and spray painted. The bottom is still exposed but can be fully painted. The fully painted are more expensive of course....
  14. Hi all, The new rage in Europe and in France are painted bullets. These are lead bullets coated with polymer paint. Do you guys uses it in the US ? I tried some in one of my SV, in 180 grains from Dynamic Arms, and accuracy is very good. I haven't chronoed them for the moment, but people who did reported increased velocities compared to FMJ.
  15. SV Signature grips must not be overlooked. They feel smaller than the regular polymer grips. I couldn't compare with a Caspian frame, but the CZish shape of the grip fits very well in the hand.
  16. I've used Wilson shock buffs in my SVs in the last 4 years without EVER having any jam related to them. The Hiett shock buffs (the red ones) were the best IMO when they were available.
  17. You're right Eric, this is the Signature grip. The grip feels slimmer and sits better in the hand.
  18. The new grips comes with different textures and roughness. The micropocket comes in ultra agressive finish, and it sticks in your hand ! Try your hand on some different grips if you can. I have the signature grips with grip tape and I like it a lot.
  19. Hi all, I posted a couple of videos from the last matches I shot. Fiocchi Infinity French Team
  20. Brownells doesn't have them in stock. Thanks anyway guys.
  21. Hi all, A friend of mine is desperately searching for MP45 strikers. His dealer doesn't have them and two pistols needs to go to customers. Do you guys know of an online site that would sell them and send overseas ? I tried Speed Shooters specialties and they do not send outside of US. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  22. I installed one on my training gun. The kit came with the trigger bow, mainspring housing, magwell, mag release and pins. All I had to put was a trigger insert.
