  1. That's it, the european championships are over. France goes back with four medals: - open division - team open division - Senior open and 3rd open senior. Hard stages, lots of movers, lots of very low windows. Detlef, couldn't see you there, saw your name on couple of score sheets but I Couldn't find you. Maybe another time. DVC Julien
  2. In the squad, we do it all the time. Some are doing it for fun (like me) and some are doing it to try to break you down. This year, as we were shooting to select people that would go to the european championship, it was harder ! I always have a "don't care about that" mindset . I'm here to shoot my stage as I planned . One of the favorite jokes in the squad is : "are you sure you're major ? " This happens all the time when one of those bloody poppers just "cling" and don't fall !
  3. I saw the two versions of squib loads. A friend of mine, who's a specialist for this , is always lucky that the next round can not be chambered . Another friend just noticed that his glock's barrel had been seriously damaged and he must replace it after a bullet pushed another inside the barrel. A third friend destroyed a Glock 18 , the full auto version of the G17, he reloaded ammos with "really hot" SP primers but no powder inside one case. The round goes, but the bullet stopped just before the ports , the gun cycled (bad luck) and chambered another round full of powder, and KABOOM ! The gun is now a nice piece of artwork ! My advice is ALWAYS CHECK FOR POWDER in the case ! ! DVC Julien
  4. I'm just like pat, I talk to everyone in the squad, but I do not talk to people who wait to shoot as most of them "wouldn't hear". As soon as I heard the "load and make ready" for the guy just before me, I switch off my electronic earmuff, and start thinking about my stage, reapeating it and most of it , visualize it . Then I'm the one who "wouldn't hear" ! An important thing for me is to talk with others shooters at the briefing and during the reccons . They can have a better plans to shoot the stage, as kellyn told in his post. DVC Julien :-) (Edited by Julien Boit at 11:17 pm on Aug. 9, 2001)

Hey Brian, Did you choose a color/lettering combination for the Tshirts ? dvc Julien :-)
  6. When drawing weak hand, i grab the gun at the magwell and make the transfer to the weak hand. Doing so allow me to have full access to the grip for placing the weak hand. I do not cant the gun, I keep it straight. julien :-)
  7. Hey deaf, I've had this problem about jams after reassembling my G35. I had the bad idea on a 2-days competition to completely clean the gun at the end of the first day. The day after, first stage was a 28 rds stage, first to shoot in the squad and guess what? F*****G JAMS ! ! ! I also discover that one of my mag was non drop free ! So, I learned that a glock, when put completely aparts needs to shoot few rounds to put "everyone at its place" to get 100 % reliable. Bloody murphy ! 8. Any of you planned to shoot the European Championship in Germany ? Dvc julien :-)
  9. I think that here in France they would have two options for that kind of situations: First if there is enough time to allow it, shooters should do a reshoot. Second, if there is not enough time, They would probably cancel the stage. It already happened here . About reshoot, I don't think it's always a good thing, I always screwed up my reshoots ! T-Shirts

Totally forgot about "those guys in grey shirts". In france, they wear red shirts. What about royal blue with yellow lettering ? DVC Julien :-)
  11. Pro-grip MUST be in the shooting bag. As well as spare parts, I always have a couple of replacement springs. Something to drink and something to eat. DVC Julien

  13. He's the world champion,He got what I call "the luck of the beginners" (that makes his father laugh !) As Jerome said, he's a very nice guy. About the 1911 supremacy, it's true but remember 3rd place in standard at the WSXII was a Tanfoglio and 5th place was a glock ! In matches where trigger speed is not what counts most, skilled shooters with glocks or tanfos are there . DVC Julien
  14. Hey all, Anyone can tell me where I can find video tapes from the USPSA nationals ? I have '94 limited and '95 open from Lenny McGill's. I'd like something newer . Thanks dvc julien
