  1. I gotta get me a pinup calendar with pictures of doughnuts!! I too love me some Krispy Kreme, but alas the store in our town closed 2 years ago. I purchased a dozen at the airport flying home from Tampa last Oct. When we went thru TSA they tried to confiscate as a bribe. Next time I fly out of Tampa, I will get an extra dozen for them. Randy Nope....it's not pictures of donuts on that calendar!
  2. Congrats to "thegirl" for taking Top Lady in Open and Top Lady Overall! Nice shooting Rhonda...
  3. Squad 1 was the place to be for C Open...1st, 2nd and 3rd place...it was fun! Enjoyed meeting the Arizona crowd, laughing, joking, and downright harassment! Hey Pete, don't run with that thing in your mouth you might trip and fall....
  4. The first question you might answer is do you love the manufacturing industry or do you love the firearms industry specifically. With such an undertaking as you have described, you will have to be 100% dedicated to your product and your customers. Without the “hobbyist” attitude or a lifetime of involvement in the use of your products it might be difficult to survive the arduous routine and hurdles that occur in running a business. Someone entering the electronics industry might be considered a “tech geek” from the years of gamer activities or be consumed by every detail of the evolution of personal computers. Some even hang out in Radio Shack eyeballing every component available for retail purchase and imagine how they will build their new automated dog food dispenser. The same is true for the firearms industry; years of experience in hunting have given some creative people ideas for new products that make sense and offer real solutions to the hunting experience. A competitive shooter has encountered the nuances in the numerous products available today; some work, some just look cool. The expertise you will find here in this forum is vast and helpful and sometimes brutally honest. Choosing to enter into a business endeavor with the support of your entire family as you have described will be your greatest asset. Good choice on both! My previous post to this thread was not intended to appear negative but to give you a sense of reality towards an enterprise of this magnitude. (I’ve seen this first hand and have some experience) You cannot approach this endeavor like you would a homework assignment for a marketing class at the university. You have to have real world strengths, partnerships, experiences and admiration to follow the great ones like John Moses Browning, Samuel Colt, John Garand and Eugene Stoner. Best wishes to you, your business partners and family members. Thank you for posting this thread and thanks to all who shared invaluable information.
  5. The weather is perfect. The weather report shows some wind but maybe just enough to keep us kool. Safe trip...cya soon!
  6. I enjoyed watching him in the History Channel's Wild West Tech... It was somewhat of a dichotomy of characterization after having watched Kung Fu for years. Rest in Peace Grasshopper...
  7. Pretty ugly thing to see!

    Windows7

Is Windows7 similar to Vista in appearance? Are the harware requirements the same? I have Vista 64-bit that suffers "issues" with certain hardware devices. Is replacing it with Windows7 an option?
  9. That was my birthday present from my sweeheart (mad scientist) You want me to ask him to put icky stuff all over it?
  10. Do sponsors set up merch tents? Newb I've not seen any in the past. But on Sunday after the match you may see several in the air conditioned building where the awards will take place.
  11. Reasonable response #1: The evolution of firearms from the muzzle loader to the modern semi-automatic rifle spans over 700 years. Countless designers, engineers, inventors, shooters, hunters and dreamers have worked tirelessly to create and perfect the awesome mechanical device we have available to us today. Most of us just love to shoot and are intrigued by firearms. We read books, magazine articles, surf the Internet, and watch shows on the Outdoor channel to absorb as much info as we can about this sport we love. A lifetime of interest based on an initial spark of desire to know more. The manufacturer starts here.
  12. I got the big one and it needs to be bigger! My hands/fingers are on long side...yes I have the long trigger also. I can hardly tell the difference in size between it and my STI plastic grip. (but the aluminum grip feels awesome! ) I measured the plastic one around the mainspring housing and just below the grip safety...5 3/4" The new aluminum grip measures 5 7/8" Not much difference! I'll be looking for grip tape/skateboard tape with something underneath to fill in the gap... Any ideas or suggestions?
  13. My sympathies to all... I have suffered with back pain for decades...been there done that.
  14. My sentiments exactly. We would not have had the opportunity to meet lots of people all over the country if we only squadded with the shooters from our club. Heck, we already know them and shoot with them every month. Getting random squadding at the non-local match gives us the chance to start new friendships, observe other shooters and learn more. Plus, you get to meet the BE forum members and that's always a hoot!
  15. Happy Birthday Captain Nemo!
  16. I don't what color your grip is but here's what the blue C-More looks like with a blue grip. This is before my gun was modified several times.
  17. You're just saying that cuz you know mine is blue...darn kids.
  18. Ha...the food continuation program...that's something worth consideration. I shot a B class classifier today...I'm jazzed about that! I know, all you A Class and M Class shooters can't remember the joy and excitement in shooting over 60% but for us underacheivers it is a moment of greatness!
  19. I can't decide if that makes me want to stand up and salute or just cry! That man and his peers had an understanding of liberty and tyranny that far surpasses the intellect and patriotism in our country today. Oh, if they could only hear the repulsive news or talk to our ambitious legislators in Washinton... BTW, Sam Adams is my all time favorite beer.
  20. ya right! Just hold him awhile (insert smug whiny voice here) ...NOT! Remember the saying that the more often you handle a firearm the greater the possibility you will have an accidental discharge? Well, you keep handling those snakes and eventually you will get bit!
  21. It certainly was cold enough at that match to cause a colorful metaphor to escape my lips... So, where are you moving to?
  22. Oh he is in deep sh*t now! I was barefoot while trying to operate the camera and not liking it one bit! I am scared sh*tless of snakes...poisonous or not. I'm gonna hit him with a cast iron skillet for every smartazz comment this thread produces.
  23. There may part of his lunch stuck in there somewhere... You should see it after he eats ice cream...
  24. I froze my azz off today! My toes were numb and my goosebumps were so big they hurt just rubbing against my thermal underwear. At some point the sun did come out and the sky turned blue but by then my lips were blue and the cold wind whipped right through every layer I had on. The stages were great...fast and furious! Thanks to the RO's who tirelessly froze right along with us. Gawd I hope it warms up tomorrow!
