  1. Leo, I did not feel any rain. I just got the RL 1050 because I thought it would be the last reloader that I would have to ever buy. I am ready to send a letter straight to Mike asking him what is going on. Maybe if he received several letters at least he would help us come up with a solution. Oh yeah, no response to my email yet either... Jim
  2. I agree with L9X25 on the "Oh Well" attitude from the guy on the phone. I wonder if they are having problems with their people, it always seemed like the people there really wanted to help. I sent them an email asking about other parts that wear and the availability of them. Maybe the right person will get it and our problems will be solved. Or as Eric said maybe we can get the specs. Then we can create a new nitch market which will allow us all to retire. Then we could shoot all day every day. Maybe I'm dreaming. Jim
  3. Eric, Is that the HP 41 CX? If so that is what is on my desk right now also. Jim Sorry for the drift...
  4. Don't get me wrong guys, this does make me angry, especially when they choose to still support the 550 that I bought 17 years ago. But I could have called Dillon and asked what their plans were for RL 1050 support. Dillon has always done me right in the past. I am not sure how long ago the Super 1050 came out so I was not going to criticize them for changing out equipment to build the new model. I would be willing to support a group of 1050 users in questioning Dillon's reasons for not leaving us with some alternative to just throwing away a $1000 machine. There must be a fix here we just have to figure it out. Maybe we should ask Bill Gates. Jim
  5. Holy $hit your right. I just called and confirmed. The lower journal and bearing assembly are no longer in stock. If some of you 1050 masters will please let me know what else wears out so I can buy one of them before they are gone too I would really appreciate it. Damn, I just bought this 1050 and haven't even started using it yet. I don't blame Dillon, I should have done a little more research with them before I spent the money. Let's just hope that I got lucky and this one has many years of life left in it. Jim
  6. Hi SigLady, What software tools do you use to resize the pictures? I had a problem while helping another member a couple of weeks ago that Flexmoney fixed for me but I did not find out how he did it. Thanks
  7. Thanks Jeffro and Sig Lady for your response and I will respect your request. OK Sig Lady the pressure is on.
  8. Pete, Some of the people at our range are wonderful, helpful people and we have a few of the "others" as well. I figure it's just the odds. I had a friend that was having trouble with his kids and went to a professional for advice. The one thing he told me about his experience that really stuck in my head was "if you let your kids make you mad then they have won". I try my best to use that as much as possible to help me not let other people get to me. Sometimes it just doesn’t work no matter how hard you try. Jim
  9. I had a 20" trimmed down to 18" and re-crowned. It works very well for me in that configuration. Now as usual all I need is to achieve the equipments potential. Jim
  10. Jeffro, How much do they cost? Jim
  11. A man must have his priorities and moving closer to the range sounds like you've got your priorities squared away. Congradulations. Jim
  12. Hi Mike, This is a very interesting post with a lot of good advice. I am no expert at shooting 3-gun style shotgun as I only started this year. I did not have the opportunity to get any training on shooting slugs prior to going to a tactical shotgun class. I ended up, much to my surprise, winning the slug portion of a little competition during the class. I approached shooting the AR and the Benelli the same way that I shoot my ‘06, which is to hold it tight to my shoulder, breath out and squeeze the trigger. It seemed to work great for me that day. Jim
  13. Thanks Rhino, We live just a few miles from mom which allows us to visit her often as well as call her every night. This makes it better for everyone. I also quit my job that required me to drive 120 miles a day and got one that is about 20 miles away which helps out. Jim
  14. I hate having to put my 88 year old mother into a retirement home. J
  15. Good one Brian I like that kind of thinking! Jim
  16. Actually he doesn't use computers much but he might have a spy that let's him know what's going on. He is a kick in the butt to watch. The thing that is really neat about him is that he seems to always have such a good time shooting. I rarely see him upset. Maybe that’s his trick for going so fast. Something I need to learn is to not take things so serious. Jim
  17. I tried something similar about a year ago. I started 10% under and worked my way down to a super soft load. The gun seemed to get dirtier with the soft loads so I beefed up the load to the accepted power factor. At first I felt the change but after a while it just seemed natural. The only reason I would load down is if I was competing in an event that did not take power factor into consideration. Jim
  18. Pete, I just ordered a limited gun through SVI and I had to really think hard about spending the $2500 for about one second. I have bought 2 Kimbers and never regretted my decision. So you spend a little money, in the big picture if you use it then it is worth it. This year is the limited gun and next year I want to go for the crazy race gun just like you are doing now. Have fun with the new blaster, I'll bet you won't regret your decision either. Jim
  19. Flex, yes sir... He always asks what that crazy Flexmoney is talking about on the forum. I told him it was your birthday and that's when he brought up his mom's birthday. I will pass along you birthday wishes the next time that I talk to her. Jim
  20. Hi Shred, I asked Taran tonite if you would have any problems and he said that he has not had a problem even when he went to New York which is has even more crazy gun laws than Kalif. Good Luck! Jim
  21. Hay Flex, Taran wanted me to tell you that was today is his mom's birthday also. Jim
  22. Kinda makes you wonder don't it,
  23. I think that I would be concerned bringing in high cap mags due to the high level of security in flights and seeing that you are coming from a foreign territory into a state where movie stars and porn kings run for governor. Some call us crazy… sometimes I wonder if they are right. Jim
