  1. I don’t know if you would call it training, but I shoot at least twice a week. I shoot a couple of hundred rounds every range trip of 22lr with my understudy gun, a 617 model, and than shoot about 3 cylinders of my carry gun which is a .357 revolver. I also practice shoot off hand at a couple of hundred yards with my 22 rifles.
  2. My oldest Grandson started shooting in competition when he was 8 years old. He's competed in many USPSA, Action Pistol, and Steel matches. He competed in his first Single Stack Classic when he was 9 years old shooting one of my custom 45's using full power 230 gr ball ammo. If you think your child has the maturity and handles guns in a safe manner I would say go for it. You are the one that will know when your child is ready to compete. Just be sure and stress the safety issue as one can never be to safe.
  3. I use the pull through method. Also, it is the universally the accepted method.. I'll recommend Eearnest Langdon videos, this will throw more light on how to do it right.
  4. Thanks for the heads up. I'll place my order today
  5. You can't go wrong with Trijicon RMR Type 2 RM07
  6. I went with staccato. I don’t hear about people needing to tweak them to get them to run right..
  7. I had a Chambers Custom RDSM plate installed by Buhler Ballistics on my STI 5" . Turn around was good and quality is great.
  8. I am pretty ambivalent about this offering. I know Vudoo gunworks makes a great 22lr. But the styling on these are so boring and offers nothing different. 2011s, while I love them, really are all starting to look alike. But great range reports change everything but there is already a flooded market of fantastic shooting 2011s.
  9. I have not seen this before. But i follow the link up there and it surely looks like an interesting piece. You can look it up on Colt website for more information about it.... Beautiful pistol you've got btw.
  10. I own a bunch of Aimpoints. They stay on all the time. ALL the batteries in my house get changed on January 1st. It's a simple system. I like simple
  11. I do it pretty frequently, especially on fast reloads. I'll also rack the optic on my holster for one handed reloads. Never lost a zero or ripped an optic off. I don't make it a point to slam my $500 optic into things, but I also don't baby them.
  12. Not sure who Alchemy uses but their hard chrome gets high marks & in photos looks great - may try reaching out to them, see if they will share the information.
  13. On my GSP, I drill out the rear of the grip palm rest, fill it with lead then put standard plug in it. It's completely legal.
  14. I owned an RG revolver that got worn completely out. It would spit lead out the side of the gap hard enough to injure a bystander.
