splashdown
Tim, do you know what style the polo shirt will be. (cotton, wicking style...etc) Thanks Russ From the application form: "We are using a different shirt vendor this year to give folks a change of pace. Shirts are a wicking sport fabric very similar to most of the popular shooting shirts. Polo style is with an open collar. Shirts are embroidered over the heart with the match logo. We may have a few for sale during the match for those that change their minds."

Just went back and looked at the PDF form and it is in there in a seperate pop up box. So for everyone else it is there in one form and not in another. Tim Egan
Mike McCarter and I will be hammering details out during the next several weeks, I forsee a grant type of program where a junior applies for reimbursement for expenses, which could include travel expenses, match fees, ammo, etc. In return we will ask a bit of homework for juniors as well, possibilities would include a short diary of their match, a magazine article, etc. We are also hammering details of a junior camp in conjunction with the A1 match. guns_and_labs
Any update on a match rate/discount? Folks, The owners of the campground will not be in for 10 days, so I wont be able to try for a better rate until then. However, their normal rates range from $30 to $35 per night depending upon hookup type and pull thru. Nice campground, very close to match hotel and range. TimE Good Question. While there is not an official match campsite, here is my reccomendation: Snake River Rv Park I will go by there today and try to negotiate a better rate. It is about 1/2 mile down the road from the Match Hotel. Happy New Year, TimE Application in the mail. Is there a "match campsite" with trailer hookups? Great, thanks. This is my first time venturing outside my Area, and I'm trying to convince the family that a road trip would be fun.
Tim Egan
Hi Folks, We have an official campground: Snake River RV Park They have agreed to give a 10% discount if you mention USPSA when you make your reservation. *IF* they get 10 or more reservations for camping related to Area 1, they will give an additional 5% at check-in. They are located a half mile from the match hotel and festivities there, and 4 miles from the range. They have a hot tub and pool, pets are welcome, and thursday thru saturday mornings they offer a $2.50 all you can eat pancake breakfast for their campers. All sorts of hookups are available. [i}*Please Note* - They will fill up quickly.[/i] Idaho Falls gets a lot of trafic in the summer bound for Yellowstone National Park and this campground will fill up quickly. So, make your reservations as absolutely early as possible.

Tim Egan
Folks, The match is fully staffed. If you were planning on joining the staff, and I dont know about it, you should probably send me an email asap. We are ahead of last year's registration at this time, and the turn out for the shooters banquet is also ahead of what we expected. You will be able to purchase tickets for the banquet up until June 15th, but there if we fill the banquet room before then I will post here as well. Thanks to all who have registered so far! Tim Egan
Folks, I've added a Q&A forum page to the Area 1 website, look to it for various questions regarding the match, late breaking news and other tidbits of information. No login necessary to view, but you gotta create a login to be able to post, and posting rights will be given only after I verify a valid user. Keeps the spammers at bay. Tim Egan
No, Hadnt had enough time or experience with it. Squadding the old fashioned way. Squadding is currently first come first served, and we are squadding in order of: Shooting preference, squad mate requests. We are not holding spots for squad mates that have not sent applications in. I will be posting squad lists in early june and will give folks the chance to move around within reason. Tim Egan
Saturday AM / Sunday AM shooting period is essentially full folks. Please make sure that you select a second shooting period if you are trying for either of the weekend slots. Thanks to all the registrants so far, turnout at the banquet is better than expected. Tim Egan
Folks, If you are considering camping at the match campground, and need a full hookup with sewer, you had better act immediately. The Snake River RV Parkhas only one full hookup with sewer left. However, they have plenty of hookups with water and power, just no sewer. They do have a dumping station however. Tim Egan
Folks, I finally got the prototype shirt in today, and am very excited to offer it up to the match contestants. Shirts are a 7 oz. 100% spun polyester micromesh knit shirt featuring Tri-Mountain UltraCool™ moisture wicking technology. Accented with flame embroidery and piping along shoulders, a contrast trim along collar, cuffs, and inner three-button placket, a half-moon yoke back and square bottom with side vents; the match shirts will feature the match logo embroidered across the left breast. If you have already sent your match entry, email or PM me with the color of shirt you would like. Staff shirts are a reverse of the white/red shirt. I think these are the nicest match shirts I've yet seen in my short shooting history. They are a little heavier than previous area 1 match shirts, but are still a breathable wicking fabric. When I get the prototype sew-out of the logo, I will post a photo. Edited February 26, 2010 by Tim Egan
