Charles Bond
No ranges picked yet. When last I spoke with Greg he will be out sometime in December looking them all over and making a decision. So I still have my fingers crossed! Send him to Georgia. Taking the match here would mean: 1. New customers for their products. 2 Breat match support and range officers and venues out to 1000 yards.. 3. A chance to eat some decent hog meat. 4. The opportunity to place the match in the venue that first produced the lone star flag for the Republic. 5. World class airport and here it comes you will love this It is close enough for Linda to drive and bring her own coffee pot.

LChico
Send him to Georgia. No chance in hell. Match is held in the Republic of Texas. Period. Last year I was a bit rushed getting to the match (because I had too little time off of work) and had to fly. This year, I'm driving. And I hate to express a preference for any particular place because I have always been treated well and enjoyed my trips to Texas. However, I would LOVE to return to the Houston area. I spent a lot of time there during the time my husband was being treated at MD Anderson. The shooters in the Houston area & other Houston residents were so friendly and helpful. LChico
Linda.. Were you UP or Down in Vegas during the Nats?? Larry Up, but not by very much. . . however since they comp'd my rooms, meals, internet, room service, etc., I still came out pretty good. I did try to teach a few 3 gunners how to gamble, but they stubbornly insisted on handing their money to the casino instead of following my 'rules.' Fortunately, they finished better at the match. I didn't think there was a range in College Station big enough for the range. I have heard some good things about the Orange range. The College Station range is a private facility with 600, 700, & 1000 yard ranges, an operational 100 person, 25 meter tactical pistol/shotgun/carbine range that is in the process of being expanded to 50 meters, and a 40 shooter carbine range from 0 - 200 yards. It has approx 900 acres of natural terrain with good elevation changes with most areas having shots out to 500+ yards. The property has a 30 acre lake with some of the best jungle run areas you could ever want. A 30 x 40 ft classroom with covered porches is being built and should be complete in in the next few months. You could park a 1000 vehicles with out a problem. There is a beautiful camp area south of the lake and all access roads are oil field stout... I spent the weekend detailing maps and shooting areas and spent today out in the field checking areas with range finder and walking all the potential stage areas. I will have a GIS Mapping specialist out this week to create large detailed maps of the area. If this facility is selected or NOT we have plans to have a invitational 3-gun match early next year. That's enough range info for now, but if you have never been to the College Station area you are in for a treat. Lots of great eating places, tons of hotels. a major airport just 20 minutes from the range and only minutes from Texas A&M and downtown College Station. Thanks, FredQ

Match weekend should be ok, but right now, its open season on thems wearin' burnt orange. I like College Station, because I would commute (sleep in my own bed). I look forward to 3-gun there.
