Now how can this really be?

I ship a priority mail package,get tracking

and insurance #'s. Next day 24HRS latter,

I check to see where the "PRIORITY MAIL"

package is. NO WHERE- at least at this time!

So I arrive at my local post office- and ask

the "BIG" question? Can you help me- the

young lady smiled and said- the PO has

37 days to scan your package- HOW can that be

I sent it "PRIORITY MAIL" should be at the

location in three days! OK she says what

happened when you tracked the number? I

responded- it does not show and I either

entered the wrong number ot this number

does not exist! Then she states-"well that tells

me that the box was never "SCANNED" after

we took it in, and it just dont exist!! Say what!!

So I was informed to contact the person who

is to receive the box Friday after 5pm and ask

"DID IT SHOW UP YET"

Its no wonder they, USPS is in the "RED" and

is looking to close down some PO locations-

this is on the web as of this AM,you can read

about it there! :angry2::sight:

I feel your pain.

I live in the country and the other day I met my mail lady as I was expecting my shipment of MG bullets. As she handed me the mail on top was the "tried to deliver card" stating they attempted to drop off my package but no one was home. She looked down as she drove away.

Of course I had to pick the package up the next day at the Post Office..

I get the same thing from my mail lady when my MG shipment comes in. :angry2:

Their tracking is useless.

This is why I will not ship a gun FFL to FFL via USPS even if it does save my customer a few bucks.

oh and the bullets, I'd rather have to go and pick them up then figure out how to get them out of my mail box again (yes they did manage to stuff a 70# box in there) :surprise:

I have one of those big residential boxes. The one rate box just happen to barely fit and somehow some joker stuffed it in there. Not real sure how the whole thing didn't fall over.

Dan- that has happened to me also- almost had to

tear apart the mail box to remove my MG and Zeros.

Then again- the feds will tell you its a federal crime

to destroy a mail box, even when you pay for and

install it- once the mail has been delivered to a box

the feds known own the box- from that point on!

Next they will tell us what color, shape and size we

have to install at our own homes! :roflol::roflol::roflol:

I had a package that was sent to me awhile back registered priority. When it was shipped the counter person sold them signature confirmation along with the registered priority. RP already requires a signature, they paid twice for the signature. So after a week waiting for it I started to look into where it was at. It only had to go 500 miles to reach me. I checked with the post office and they informed me it takes 12 to 15 days for registered mail to be delivered. It finally arrived after 2 weeks and I saw what was charged to send this $24.50, they could have shipped it any other way for less than half that and a week+ sooner.

Not contradicting anything said here, just something I did when I was living in Waldorf, MD in an Apt.

When I ordered bullets, I would tell the lady that delivered to me and ask she leave a pick up card instead of trying to take them down the Apt complex stairs to my door. She was older and I didn't want her killing herself with the box. Then I went to the post office in Upper Marlboro and befriended any person behind the counter I had to deal with. I dealt with the same lady the first two times I picked up bullets. After that, I got my notices promptly and the lady behind the counter would just come open the door for me and walk me into the warehouse with a dolly to get the boxes. They all wondered what the hell could be so heavy in the box and when I was explaining to the three workers there that it was bullets and about shooting competitions, I had their complete attention. It always helps to spin a good story ;) After smoothing the way, my deliveries were on time and with a personal touch. I wasn't a stranger anymore. Holiday cards hand delivered really gets them on your side too.

Ya, it shouldn't be this way and there should be more pride in their work. It is what it is, and it's harder for them not to care if you befriend them.

Sean get out of here with your logical solutions this is the hate forum :roflol:

I know most everyone at our post office by name and they do take good care of me, but you still can't trust the post office as a system.

I have gotten to the point that when I get a shipment notice from Zero or MG, I leave a note on the mailbox for the mailperson, and just tell them not to even bother trying to deliver, just let me know when they come in, and I will pick them up on the way to work the next morning. They are happy to put them on a dolly and bring them out to the loading dock for me.

I am no fan of USPS by any measure, but I try and keep the mail carrier at least not hating me.

They already do to some extent. If you have an individual box on the street, just try moving it to your front door.

On another note, isn't just like a federal agency to cut customer service first if they're losing money instead of reforming their business practices or God forbid cutting back on the 6-digit salaried managers.

This IS NOT about getting things delivered!

Its about them doing the job wrong, and not

even caring about it! They are the ones that

received the package but FAILED to scan it

into the system, now I have to sit and see

if and when it showes up- they don't care and

they made the mistake! And if you think that

the PO will send me any insurance $$ back in

any hurry-YA RIGHT

CLOSED :(
