bigsaxdog Posted June 1, 2009 Share Posted June 1, 2009 (edited) so we're at the SC State match this weekend. had a great time, great match, stages, etc. excellent revolver squad, all the usual suspects. linda's after party party wasn't too bad either, from what i can remember..... we're shooting stage 4, our second stage. 29 shots, starts out w/ the texas star at @ 10 yds, maybe less. pretty close, no problemo, just don't yiiippp..... so we usually have a few side bets, just to keep it interesting. $5 to get in, gotta clean the star, then if you clean the star, most points wins. no problemo, i'm trying to shoot points anyways, cause' when i go too fast, the wheels fall off, so.... 3 of us get in the bet, of course 'otis, the town drunk' is one. i go first, clean the star, shoot pretty good for me, 38 seconds, down 4 points, so i'm happy. i think the next guy misses the star, can't remember, maybe there was 4 of us.....then otis is up...he cleans the star, then BULLSEYES the rest of the stage, shoots snakeyes..... i think 43 seconds if i remember correctly, NO POINTS DOWN! just so he can win the $$$, he bones the stage! my dear departed mother could have ran it faster than that, he shoulda been low 30's easy, probably less...... pathetic........ then later we get the $5 chrono bet going. high power factor wins. what does 'otis' do? before the chono, he sneaks off like the reptile that he is and OILS HIS BARREL, unbeknownst to everybody else...... i thought i was pretty hot, but only came out 169+, he was 177 after greasin', but henry was shootin' hardball at way over 180, so at least 'otis' didn't win that one....... you just can't trust some people......i should know better...... I will say he was sweating a little when he found out they threw out stage 5 after he was playing on 2 of them. Maybe next year Pat I will see if I can slow him down for you again. LChico Posted June 1, 2009 Share Posted June 1, 2009 It's a shame you left the 'after party' a bit early. Cliff, oops, I mean Otis, continued to push his luck. He decided to see how many rude and provocative comments he could make to two very drunk guys (both were younger than he was, bigger than he was, in better shape than he was, but nearly as drunk). It had an odd fascination for those of us watching - waiting to see which of the two insulted young men would lose it first and break Otis' nose, if not most of the rest of him. There were a few lessons learned. I found out that Otis will be just as happy when missing his favorite silver bullets (Heineken was the sponsor of our 'after party.') Apparently, it makes a big difference if the beer is free. And Otis learned a new trick, too. Pat Scott taught him how to open a "non-twist open" beer bottle without a bottle opener, by using a small plastic juice bottle. Otis promptly put his new skill to great use. Practice makes perfect. On a serious note, good to see the Revolver turnout at South Carolina. Since we no longer have Summer Blast, I hope to see more of you at SC & Area 8 matches. You have an awful lot of drunken debauchery to go before you get to this level. You are a legend in a few states in the southeast.
