jasmap
Has anyone placed in the top 16 at the Nationals with an Open Glock or maybe won an Area Match with one? I'm just curious. I don't ask to start a debate on which platform is better than another.....just curious.
Flexmoney
No, not to my knowledge. Unless Dave has shot an Area match with one for fun. (I don't recall that he has.) he did shoot some Steel Challenge with one...rather well. I don't think there are any GM-types competing with an Open Glock (on any regular basis). I've considered it. I think it is viable...if you ensure that it runs as well as any other Open gun.
jasmap
Thanks Flex. It just came to mind earlier and I couldn't remember anyone doing it but I was just wondering out of curiosity. Edited June 24, 2008 by jasmap
Chuck Anderson
I'll let you know. I should have my new SJC Open Glock next month and I'm taking it to the Open Nats this year. I seriously doubt that I'll make the Top -16 with my utter lack of practice with an open gun, but you never know.

Joe4d
A 22 round mag isnt much of a bonus in open.
Adam B
A 22 round mag isnt much of a bonus in open. You need at least a 32 round mag to compete with the mags that howard smith is putting out!

I'd love to try one out myself to see if I liked it before I bought one.

I saw pics of Dave shooting Open at a match and I think it was an S_I of some sort...not that he couldn't have an Open Glock as well. I thought it a little surprising, but he said he loves shooting Open for fun....God help us that he decides to be a serious Open shooter
HoMiE
I think a SJC glock can finish at the top.
uscbigdawg
Jesse Abate's done a "pretty" good job with hers and there's no doubt in my mind that it could be done. Too, SJC has 28 round mags for 9mm Glocks. Rich
SA Friday
I was just thinking, "I bet there are a lot of old threads on BE that sounded like this about Glocks in limited". Looked what happened there.... I would think it's only a metter of time since history consistantly repeats itself.

SV_shooter
I was going to buy an SJC when I had the money, but again..... no HSMITH mags . As much I suck, I really do need the extra rds. Do I think it's possible? Does TGO shoot a Springfield?
Harmon
you dont need 32 rounds to compete in open. 28 is plenty Harmon
uscbigdawg
you dont need 32 rounds to compete in open.28 is plenty Harmon Shoot. You don't need that many. Harmon, you shoot Open 40 in your Glock (I think) and I bet 25-26 rounds is about the max. Rich
Harmon
yeah, 25 is tight ive shot a 9mm major STI with 29 round big stick and compared to when i didnt have a big stick, i noticed little difference. Harmon
fastshooter03
I've got some open nationals footage of a glock shooter but mostly just him racking the slide. If you're going to try it you'd better have it done right. Nothing against glocks just get someone who can be accountable if it doesn't work right.
