Open Glock at the Nationals?

Has anyone placed in the top 16 at the Nationals with an Open Glock or maybe won an Area Match with one? I'm just curious.

I don't ask to start a debate on which platform is better than another.....just curious.

No, not to my knowledge.

Unless Dave has shot an Area match with one for fun. (I don't recall that he has.) he did shoot some Steel Challenge with one...rather well.

I don't think there are any GM-types competing with an Open Glock (on any regular basis).

I've considered it. I think it is viable...if you ensure that it runs as well as any other Open gun.

I'll let you know. I should have my new SJC Open Glock next month and I'm taking it to the Open Nats this year. I seriously doubt that I'll make the Top -16 with my utter lack of practice with an open gun, but you never know.

I've heard nothing but good stuff about John and Steave. I'd love to try one out myself to see if I liked it before I bought one.

I saw pics of Dave shooting Open at a match and I think it was an S_I of some sort...not that he couldn't have an Open Glock as well. I thought it a little surprising, but he said he loves shooting Open for fun....God help us that he decides to be a serious Open shooter :surprise:

I was just thinking, "I bet there are a lot of old threads on BE that sounded like this about Glocks in limited". Looked what happened there.... I would think it's only a metter of time since history consistantly repeats itself.

I hadn't thought about it that way but I bet you're right.

I've got some open nationals footage of a glock shooter but mostly just him racking the slide.

If you're going to try it you'd better have it done right.

Nothing against glocks just get someone who can be accountable if it doesn't work right.
