Matt Cheely
I'm not sure how they get that it's the quickest when the Ariel Atom does 0-60 in 2.7 sec. Edited February 22, 2008 by Matt Cheely

rtr
It certainly appears to have good numbers and cool technology. However when I saw one in person I wasn't taken by it's appearance.

Rocket35
I'm not sure how they get that it's the quickest when the Ariel Atom does 0-60 in 2.7 sec. Must be a Production car thing....
EatMeerkats
I saw the GT-R at the Chicago Auto Show last weekend... best car there, in my opinion (sure, they had a Lamborghini Murcielago there too, but I've seen those before) NISSAN GT-R R35 Onboard Camera (Nürburgring)
Dave Gundry
Depends GREATLY on the definition of "production" There were 100 Mclaren F1's produced (50 for the track, and 50 for the street) - 0-60 in 3.0 (in 1992 no less). For the fastest, I think it'll be quite a while before ANYONE tops one of these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpXfcx-9ew0 (but Koenigsegg is getting darn close - supposedly the cops ticketed one in Texas doing 242) And the 16 year old McLaren F1 241mph is nothing to be scoffed at... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icppzVxzpcA And then there was the Lancia Delta S4 that did 0-60 in 2.5 on pavement, and I thought there once was a story about a 2.8 second 0-60 on gravel from one of the Group B cars, but I haven't been able to find any confirmation (might have been in Too Fast To Race documentary - any rally dorks around?) - but those were purpose built rally cars, not production. Not taking anything away from the GTR - that thing is impressive... (and less than a 10th of the cost )
smokshwn
It certainly appears to have good numbers and cool technology. However when I saw one in person I wasn't taken by it's appearance. I have always loved sleeper cars.....never was a huge fan of wings and wedges etc etc...always prefered the tamer appearance hiding an absolute beast. On another note concerning the group B rally cars...they were awesome...but take a look at this video of a twin engined DAF truck overtaking a group B car in the Dakar rally..... http://youtube.com/watch?v=CWhAU5Qn6dQ
mpeltier
I dont get it, I guess. All that performance that will go pretty much unused on the street and the looks of an average Japanese sports car. For that kind of $$ I would stick with the awsome Corvette Z06 or better yet the 2009 ZR-1 with their meager performance specs and first class styling. But I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
GentlemanJim
I know different strokes and all....beauty seems to be fleeting and hard to nail down.. But I just gotta tell you guys IMHO...that Nissan ......is as ugly as two hickeys on a Hemorroid Jim
Rocket35
Yeah- I must agree with you guys on the looks of the Nissan. I have never really liked their styling- but the performance was pretty cool. I too would prefer the Corvette or even the GT 40!
GentlemanJim
I admitt the Nissan and others have outstanding performance. But I find myself drawn back to the styling of the 1960s Now the muscle car era cars ...suck for handleing and are inferior to about any modern car in that measurement. But the lines and curves of the GT40 ...and those puppies run too!! I am unimpressed with modern styling...with very few exceptions. a few I love 61-69 vette 67-69 camaro 65-70 mustang pantera Shelby Cobra and several others...but all seem to be 1960s I must be caught in a Time Warp Jim
