Had a pretty decent match today. No penalties but I shot a stage out side of my comfort zone as far as the type of shots I took on 4 targets. That cost me around 2-3 seconds on the stage, probably not HOA but it cost me pretty good. In the video you'll see on the last stage I do a lot of leaning to remove a shooting position and I should have just gone to the position for the easier shot instead of taking the more difficult shot. On a good note I shoot my limited gun that I had HOA with last month and finished 2nd overall with this month. This will be my last match with it though until SS nationals. I was goaded into it this month but it was fun.

The last stage in the video is the one I'm referring to above.

First match of the year!!! Didn't do as well as I would have liked but not to shabby I don't think. My camera took a crap in the cold but a buddy of mine got a couple stages on video for me.

Stage 4

Stage 5 Don't know what the uh oh was for I was clean B)

Nice sunny 9 degrees on the first stage this morning....the stage that I CHOKED ON!!! No video of me, my camera decided it didn't like single digits and the batteries just wouldn't hold the charge.

Stage 5 Don't know what the uh oh was for I was clean B)

Thought you went thru a barrel at the end.

softcover!!!:roflol: and no barrels where harmed in the making of that performance

I saw the grease rings on the target. ;) Muzzle blast hit the barrel, so from the camera I could hear it.

Well today's IDPA match was a day of SUCK...I embraced it and learned from it! My mags wouldn't drop free. Rounds wouldn't chamber, all kinds of goofiness! I'm about all the way through those lead boooollets though in 9mm lol. Scores aren't up but I don't think I did that bad. There where some pretty technical stages and those I think I held my own on.

Yup as predicted scores are up and I didn't win this one.....by a mile! We had some big fish turn up and they let me know, with the results, that I have some growing to do. Gotta get my run running 100% again and gotta clean up that sloppiness.

Well got my gun back from my smith with a freshly fitted mag release rolleyes.gif and some new kick butt mags for my 9mm. Went to the range yesterday to do some shooting to make sure the mags would work and feed and all that. Had my target set up at about 15 yards or so. Just me, Want2Race and another "shooter". He shoots "combat matches". Didn't know what those where really but he had USPSA targets to shoot at 7 yards with so he couldn't be any worse than the guy going half way down range then turning around and saying, "CLEAR?" angry.gif.

Anyway, I'm shooting group after group freestyle and the gun is running fine so I start shooting strong hand, not much trouble there either then I hear it. The other guy's wife says, "he is shooting groups better than you with only one hand". Aren't electronic muffs fun lol. To the guys credit he just kept on shooting and I invited him to our club for some USPSA/IDPA/STEEL matches and he was all full of questions and seemed interested. It just made my day though to see the time I put in pay off. My weak hand still needs work though but was still putting them in the A zone, just not as well.

I was planning on shooting IDPA sat with a new holster so I had my gear packed up and ready to go when I got called out. Well I decided to go to the range today when I had a free moment and realized all I had was my IDPA gear....so I just rolled with it! I did some bill drills to warm up and test the new Briley Trigger kit, still good to go!

Video Had a pretty good match today. Had more people than normal as well! Weather was awesome for early March as well. I won Single Stack and I haven't finished scores yet to see where I finished in the Overall. It was a good warm up match for our first Major matches that is coming up. Still need to work on my weak hand grip during freestyle as its just not as solid as I would like it.

I practiced Saturday in pasture. I needed to prep for the Bluegrass match. I was blazing Bill Drills in the low 7s

Maybe a 6 month layoff wasn't the best idea!

Season starts for me next Sunday.

IDPA match this past sunday

Steel match a couple weekends ago

http://www.youtube.c..../1/FkS574ntBpc

As you can tell Steel isn't exactly the easiest thing for me :-)

I gotta learn to see my sights better as it is eating me up in Steel challenge not going 1 for 1. I had to rush through the IDPA match as I was on call and got a call towards the end of it. Didn't shoot as well as I would have liked, never do when I'm waiting for the phone to go off. Guess it something else I need to work on....mental pressure.
