Live Free or Die Hard

Pretty good movie in most all regards... I think it was as good as any of them. Good villain and a couple of pretty girls to give it what it needed on the eye candy angle...

IMO - 8 of 10 and it would have been a 9 but for the jet fighter scene...

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this movie. I wasn't overly impressed by the last two Die Hards.

"You must be running out of bad guys by now!"

He's back with some more good one liners.

Although I do agree that the jet fighter scene was a bit much.

I agree about the jet fighter scene. I am very forgiving about creative license in the movies, but, well I dont want to give it away. It was good but the original still beats it. Still use the line "welcome to the party pal".

OK guys.... I know that you are throwing the "CGI" acronym around to demonstrate your superior knowledge....

So, I'll ask. WTF is CGI?

Computer Generated Imagery

Edited to add That DareDevil sure is fast!

CGI truely is better than reality any more!

Honestly I don't know which way is more expensive now days.

If they do it all the 'hard way' they spend many more hours setting up shots, and much more money on props, cars, and explosives!

If they do it all the easy way and use CGI ...... they pay through the nose for all that *technology* :surprise:

It's a gift. :)

BTW, Daredevil - if we're talking the name of the superhero - only has one capital "D".

- Duane Thomas (one of whose superpowers - apparently - is pedanticism)

Okay. Ahem. Why pray tell are there two Capitol Ds on his costume?

Actually the original red-and-yellow costume, designed by Bill Everett and Jack Kirby, had but a single D on the chest. When Wally Wood did a redesign into the classic all-red version, he also changed the chest symbol to the more stylized interlocking double-D. Regardless, the character's name is still spelled Daredevil. (More than you ever wanted to know, right?)

Nah, I like the trivia. Several months ago I went into my local post office to pick up some stamps and mail a couple of letters. I noticed they had super hero stamps so I bought a sheet. The postal clerk asked me who my favorite was and I replied,

In brightest day

In darkest night

No evil shall escape my sight.

Let those who worship evils might

Beware the Power

Green Lanterns Light!

They of course looked at me like I was nuts....

Since you like trivia, it's (possibly) worth noting that the original Green Lantern oath, belonging to Alan Scott, went:

"...and I shall shed my light over dark evil.

For the dark things cannot stand the light,

The light of the Green Lantern!"

In the mid-1940s, this was revised to the classic:

"In brightest day, in blackest night

No evil shall escape my sight

Let those who worship evil's might

Beware my power, Green Lantern's light!"

When Hal Jordan appeared, this oath was given to him, and the fact that it once belonged to Alan Scott is ignored. Today "...and I shall shed my light over dark evil," etc. is the oath Alan swears, while "In brightest day," etc. belongs to Hal.

Gotta love that trivia.
