SBR engraving

Recommended Posts

Just received my approval email today for my AR based SBR build. Is the NFA engraving of my name and city required on the lower receiver. My understanding is that it is not required unless I decide to sell. The original manufactures name (Aero) and serial # are adequate for identification purposes while it’s in my possession.
Is this information correct or do I need to schedule and appointment with a shop to have it engraved? Thanks for the help.

Yes you need to have it engraved. On both of mine, I have my full name, then city, and state. All that’s needed.

mine are located on the inside top of the trigger area.

If the lower receiver is marked multi cal am i also required to engrave the caliber that I listed on the form 1?

According to the letter of the law you have to have the caliber marked somewhere, although it doesn't have to be on the receiver.  Usually it's on the barrel anyway which qualifies (I've never heard of anyone getting jacked for not having it marked either).
