It basically says Sig Sauer Germany is bankcrupt because of Corona. Edited June 5, 2020 by Hansb57
MemphisMechanic
This one contains a pre-translated version of their press release: https://www.all4shooters.com/en/shooting/culture/sports-and-law-enforcement-military-firearms-manufacturer-sig-sauer-is-bankrupt-production-in-germany-is-to-be-discontinued-the-eckernfoerde-plant-will-be-closed/
Lesliet
Hopefully this will not affect US production. Seems like they have lucrative contracts with military and law enforcement in the US, and probably a better business climate for firearms. I'd be pretty disappointed to lose them entirely as a manufacturer, I really like my P320 x5.
George16
Sig Sauer US is independent from the German company. With the military contracts stated, they’re full speed ahead.
jaep1911
Shame. What is going to happen to the Alpha? My understanding is that it was designed and developed by them.
George16
Unless they can make them at their headquarters in Isny or have Sig US manufacture it in NH, all bets are off.

frgood
Bankruptcy does not necessarily mean closure. Typically, for a business, it has meant a financial restructuring.
