SC Targets

If you are buying just enough targets to set up one stage at a time I'd strongly suggest a) getting 18x24 rectangles with the mounting feature 6" lower so you can use 5' boards versus having to change out boards between the round and rectangular targets.  Doesn't matter if you're buying a complete set.  If your swapping stages in one bay I'd also suggest stands that have a bolt to hold the 2x4  in the stand so you can move things around by picking up the whole assembly.

Resurrecting an old thread, I have plates and hangers from Steel Target 7, and I'm very happy with them. They have the slot cut into the plate, so you drop them onto a hanger cap.

It you want loud ringing steel, this is the type you want. Free-swinging steel doesn't dampen vibration, which is the key to a loud gong. Avoid springs or welds. I have a neighbor who complained that the ringing steel noise is far worse than the gunfire!

But for me the best part is that loose-hanging plates dissipate energy. They move when hit, dropping the bullet right at the base, hence, no ricochets. None.

The two matches near me both use plates that are welded to the post cap. This prevents the plate from moving, doesn't dissipate energy, which causes the bullet to bounce back. Someone gets cut from a ricochete every match. I got hit in the cheek just below my eyeglass lens this past summer. Those plates ought to be banned...

Whatever brand you choose, be sure to review all the pros and cons.
