nso123
Shot my first Steel Challenge match today and had a great time. I have been a long time rifle competitor in high power and three position, but decided I wanted to play on the steel. I shot my G 34 in production and actually did pretty well. I had a couple of times where I felt it was tough to pick up the factory sights as I transitioned from plate to plate. Are there any sights that are preferred for Steel Challenge? DesertTortoise
Most guys are using a Dawson fiber optic front with a black rear. Same goes for USPSA
RickT
If you also use the G34 for SD or HD you might consider Trijicon HD or HD XR sights.
AzShooter
Dawson's make a big different. It helps to see your sight so get a fiber optic out there of go with a Red Dot.
nso123
Thanks for the replies. I think the fiber optic would help me acquire the sights a little faster. I felt like I was searching a bit on some of the longer targets. I carry a 19 for SD.
rowdyb
Take a black marker and color in the rear U on the stock sight. That's a start to help draw your eye to the front sight using the stock sights Edited June 6, 2019 by rowdyb

JD45
Years ago Todd Jarrett was practicing at our club and we brought up this subject. He said that he and a few other guys tried it all when shooting irons. He said a white target , colored front and black rear always seemed too "busy". Most of them settled on all black irons and shot best that way.
