funflyr
No the mag looks perfectly normal. It scattered 6-8 rounds on the floor. The stage was El Prez, I started with 19 rounds so it had 13 in it when it hit.
Jay1957
Look at the feed lips on the mag and make sure the haven’t expanded.
Sarge
If it falls on basepad end the spring compresses and rounds pop out. Normal. 21,
funflyr
Thanks, I will drop test it on my basement floor and see if happens again.

Almost always see a round or two pop out. 6-8 popping out probably the follower twisted and stuck. Who knows. As long as the mag works fine in the gun I wouldn’t sweat it. funflyr
I did a drop test last night and noticed the follower got stuck fairly low in the magazine. I'm guessing the spring should not be twisted like this?

Rnlinebacker
I did a drop test last night and noticed the follower got stuck fairly low in the magazine. I'm guessing the spring should not be twisted like this? typically the followers have extra material on them that causes it to get stuck since it is plastic. Take the mag apart and by hand move the follower with spring in to the tube. you're looking for where it's getting caught and then remove a little material from follower. It should move pretty freely through the tube. I'd also run some 1000 grit sandpaper on the inside of the tube to smooth out any burrs. funflyr
I will try that. Thanks. Is the twist in the spring normal?
Rnlinebacker
I will try that. Thanks. Is the twist in the spring normal? it can happen with weaker springs. i'd consider extra power springs from wolffSent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

Just know that you can't just put any spring with any follower in the tube. Make sure if you keep factory STI follower that springs you buy will fit them specifically. beta1759
I would suggest replacing the springs. I used the TTI springs/Follower/basepad and get 21 with every mag (40 cal 140mm). Depending on how many rds you shoot a year, you might want to replace the springs 1x or 2x a year.
MemphisMechanic
And rounds displacing / ejecting is pretty normal. When the mag hit the floor, the weight of 13 stacked rounds compessed the spring. On the way down and back up, they leave the neat doublestack configuration and some fly out. Download to 4 or so rounds more than you’ll need and you’ll see less of this. This obviously applies only to classifier stages, and to ones taking place in a range with a hard floor.
