Open1215
I have that same one. I use a Burris FF3 on it. I don't believe I had to modify it. Works pretty well. Not sure on the vortex. Sent from my SM-J727T1 using Tapatalk

Open1215
I did a straight mount. I don't think I needed any plates. Pretty solid. I'll post pics in just a secSent from my SM-J727T1 using Tapatalk

hump
I used the Atlas mount. Worked out great and the optic mounts without a plate
cferree
I've never used the Arredondo, but I have used the Cheely. You might want to take a look at his mounts.
echotango
You can almost get 2 Everglades for the price of 1 arredondo. It also only has 3 holes and no blast shield. Edited January 16, 2019 by echotango

I also have 2 5/32 holes in the barrel. The grip is Sti that has been cut and trimmed on. With Dawson grip tape. It’s a very nice flat shooting gun. It seems extremely tight but functions as it should.

funflyr
I have a SPS Vista Short. Does anyone know what the screw size that holds the optic mount in place on the frame? I've been told that most open guns are 5-40 but these are not 5-40. Troy

When I was going to buy an open gun I debated hard between the vista short, or a used Sti. And I went with the used sti, and I’ve regretted it ever since. My sti is a great gun don’t get me wrong. But the sps is better in every aspect. And now the vista short is unobtainable. Just a few 38s left for sale new.
