JDIllon
Anybody else wish that PSA would change to 1/2X28 threads on their PCC barrels?? Link to comment
IHMSA15151
Are other manufactures 9mm barrels threaded 1/2-28? I'm only familiar with the PSA PCC's but thought all 9mm barrels where that thread size. Mainly so you didn't screw on a .223 brake by accident. Link to comment
Shootymacshootface
I have a stoner that is 1/2-28. I remember reading a cautionary statement somewhere about installing a .223 brake on their pcc barrel. Edited October 1, 2018 by Shootymacshootface Link to comment
Gregg K
They probably do it for liability to keep some numb nut from installing a .223 brake. The numb nut they are protecting may be their assembly people. Link to comment
Flatland Shooter
Folks like Spinta offer them in both threads. Shooter's choice. Link to comment

The Ruger is 1/2X28 also, I think that quite a few are making the switch. JD Link to comment

I have both the ULW and Feather weight Barrels if you want to try one of mine. My Feather weight is my USPSA PCC and my ULW is my Steel Challenge PCC. Link to comment

I'm just sorry that I bought the 2 PSA uppers instead of 1 PSA and 1 Tacom. JD Link to comment

Not to get too far off topic, but is there a significant difference in weight between the Feather Weight and ULW barrels? I'm assuming it stands for "ultra light weight". Link to comment

Not a huge difference in weight, but the the ULW is a 5" barrel pinned and welded to be 16" whereas the featherweight is a 13" tension barrel pinned and welded to be 16" Link to comment

Don't own, and have not shot a ULW (kinda have an issue with having my hand out past the end of the barrel) but I am sure am digging my new Feather weight barrel. Link to comment
Beef15
Ballistic Advantage offers both. I think 1/2x36 is more common looking at the 9mm muzzle devices available. The only plus to 1/2x28 IMO is using pistol cans. Link to comment
JDIllon
I purchased a small 1/2X36 to 1/2X28 adapter and it works great on the AR's. And you are correct, I am using a pistol can. JD Link to comment
Startingover
I know both Fortis and Shooting innovations make 1/2" 36 stuff Link to comment
