ChuckS
A friend sent this link to me. A guy made a documentary from some films that a WWII flight surgeon made and identified a pilot and found him! Pretty cool little film!

Religious Shooter
Interesting. The Mustang was supposed to be a game changer because it was the first fighter that could go all the way to Berlin while escorting Allied bombers. Wonder why and how this guy's Spitfire could go all the way to Berlin. Did it save that much weight being unarmed that it could go all the way and back? They took out the guns and added more fuel storage for the MK11
Ken6PPC
That is just incredible that they were able to find the guy and show him that film. I know my dad would be moved to tears if he could find film showing him in the Army 8th Air Corp while stationed in England. He wasn't a pilot, but he is very proud of the time he spent in service during WWII.
mbuesing1
That's amazing. My family recently found footage on YouTube of my grandpas b-17 bomber after it crashed into a field in Berlin. It was the mustangs making strafing runs on it to destroy it. They were able to confirm it was his by the tail numbers. I don't know if he ever saw the video but he survived the crash, and German prison camps and died at 92. Definitely the greatest generation.
