tedahlenius85
How far does your Stock 2 throw the brass? Mine lands only about 1-2 feet from me. Its about the same with 8lbs & 10lbs recoil spring. Ammo runs at 130PF. Dont know how I can get it to eject further without going even lower on recoil spring, which I dont want. When I shoot strong hand only with a slight tilt, the brass sometimes lands on the gun. Any thoughts?
GrumpyOne
Re-profile the ejector.
taxil343
Mine is in the 4-6' range. Running 133ish PF ammo and an 8lb spring. I also have an extra power extractor spring.
MemphisMechanic
Run your ammo at 133-135 PF or so for a while, and see if you like it more. You probably will, and it'll run the gun a pinch more aggressively.
johnbu
Is your gun yours since new, or just new to you? Sometimes people trim the ejector to calm down the eject distance. I did with my 40.
LegionShooter
3 feet or so, ejects to about the two to three o'clock. Ammo about 131PF, 8lb recoil spring now, but a 10lb didn't make a big difference.

MemphisMechanic
You don't. Trimming it makes the gun throw brass LESS aggressively.
Ck867
Mine seems to go 2-3 o clock position forward. I lose a lot of brass at an indoor range because of it.
NWfront
Should the extra power extractor spring be considered only as a salutation to a problem or also as insurance in an otherwise good extracting gun (3-6')?
MemphisMechanic
I installed an XP extractor spring before my gun was ever fired, and I'd do it again.
johnbu
The extra power extractor spring is cheap insurance. you're going to remove the extractor anyway to polish it, the breech face and firing pin channel anyway ... why not toss in a better (longer lasting) spring ? MissionaryMike
I installed the XP extractor spring as well. First time I went to the range with it, the slide wouldn't completely close. I hit the back of the slide HARD, it wouldn't fully go into battery. I thought it was an ammo issue until I noticed that the spring is so darned strong and tight that it wouldn't "accept" the case head into the claw. I actually had to clip the spring. It's obviously not as strong as the full spring, but still offers more extraction power than the stock spring. Everything in peachy again. johnbu
It's usually best to only load from a magazine and not drop one in. The extractor hook can be damaged going over the brass rim. YMMV

Maybe if I had a #50 recoil spring it would have worked. Edited March 15, 2017 by MissionaryMike
