  1. I was impressed with the performance out of the box but ended up polishing the trigger bar and installing a ( - ) connector. It made for a super smooth pull but there's not much of a wall to speak of.
  2. I wanted to shoot Glocks back in the Gen 3 days but slide bite was problem. I picked up a 34 after the 4's added beavertail backstraps but the trigger was never as good as my buddy's 3's.
  3. Is this a full custom shop gun with action work done or a standard S2 Blue with the Accu Bushing installed? Original Shadow or Comp hammer?
  4. I just received my pre-ordered holster today. Excellent fit and finish as I expected from DAA but it did take a few dozen draws to break in. The front serrations had to eat away a bit of material as it was tight on the upper corners of the slide of my S2. As for retention it quickly adjusts from completely locked in to a smooth but faint click release. I wouldn't say it never fully loosens up gun bucket style like a traditional kaydex holster can but I no way feels like it trying to bind either. The ball joint mount is best part as I can move the holster a bit forward but also angle the gun out at the proper angle. The only negative about the Max is that it does weigh about twice as much as my old kydex holster with aluminum hanger. The steel/aluminum hanger is stout but also rock solid and great for heavy guns.
  5. I tried the aggressive brass grips and did find a slight improvement with balance and recoil. I also noticed the extra weight in the holster and during gun handling and that I didn't care for. In the end I personally didn't find them worth it and went back to G10 Bogies. It's all personal preference though. I can say the majority CZ shooters at my club run them.
  6. I wasn't able to find much under the search feature since purchasing our Victory so I figured I would share. This gun has ran flawless for thousands of rounds with every kind of ammo I could get my ands on lately. Other that it weighing a bit more than some of the other popular options it's been a great pistol for shooting steel. As for mods I share this gun with a junior shooter so we put a Volquartsen CF barrel on to reduce muzzle weight and added a break. Installed a 3moa Vortex on the factory rail and found a nice pair of Guuun grips that seem to fit most hand sizes well.
  7. Just an update on the process it took a little over a month to complete. I received a check in the mail today for the total cost just as advertised. Walther was a great company to deal with.
  8. I just sent one in. The gun was great and I tried to like it but was just never going to work for me. I filled out the online form Sunday night and received an email the next morning with clear instructions and attached shipping label. It should arrive there tomorrow so hopefully the process will continue to go smoothly.
  9. I'm picking up a 4.5 FS next week and started looking at holsters. Has anyone tried the Comp-Tac International?
  10. Here are a couple different ones I had in the safe. First is the TTI and it fits but makes contact as it locks in. The second is from Henning Group and it seems to fit with a little room to spare.
  11. I believe if I bench rested them that the marksman barrel would hold a slightly tighter group but always found previous gen accuracy to be excellentas well. Outside of shooting lead, cosmetics or need for threading I found aftermarket barrels a waist of money but thats just me.
  12. I've had both. The Edge was nice but appeared to basically be polished up oem parts and with pre/overtravel stops. The JG seemed more refined since he works every part over to get a bit more performance out of the system. I personally liked the short travel and fast reset of the JG but never cared for the connector he used and preferred the break of the Edges (-) connector but thats just me.
  13. I've had good experience using Dawson +200 pads and the value is hard to beat. I also clean the outside of the mags with Hornaday aerosol dry lube and wipe off as much of the excess as possible.
  14. Has anyone yet to have any experience dealing with IFG customer service? If so how were they to work with? I had a Stock 2 that I never really warmed up to and sold it. Another big factor in letting it go was the thought of having to deal with EAA in the case of a major issue.
  15. One of the the better known custom triggers makers includes (or at least did the last time I purchased one) maritime cups in their kits to reduce drag. I found it did make a difference in performance but also the need to clean the channel more frequently due to carbon getting through the gaps.
  16. I like the look of that Limited Master. I'm curious about what price points they both come in at.
  17. I've had half dozen Jager rods and have seen some slight scratches form and the bottom edge on one tried to burr up a little after thousands of rounds but nothing I couldn't easily knock down with a stone. This definitely looks like something isn't fit correctly to cause that kind of wear so quickly. Are you sure it's the correct rod for your generation of gun? Was it possibly not seated correctly when you installed it?
  18. Anyone running the Holosuns? A guy was showing me his 510c and I was impressed with the how crisp/sharp the reticle was and curious if the smaller 507c is comparable.
  19. I know of a few Duel Illumination RMR's that have seen some hard use without failing. Without electronics there is not much to go wrong. The downside is dot brightness can be a bit tricky in different light conditions.
  20. I've had great luck with the Razor and Venom for CO. The Vortex warranty and quick turn around are primarily why I went with them but they also look and preform great at a price point that's hard to beat. I've seen the SRO's up close and they are impressive. If they are anything like the RMR in terms reliability I could see them being worth the cost. As far as back up irons Dawson makes them to cowitness just about every optic.

    downside to MOS?

The only downsides I've noticed with the MOS is that the additional plate and screw's increase the chances of something coming loose. The other is that in my Gen 4 brass would often hit the optic but that seems to no longer be an issues with my Gen 5's.

    MOS Plate torque

Anyone else have issues with the factory thread locker? My plate came loose this weekend and it didn't appear to bond to the slide very well despite me degreasing it before installation. I thought maybe I missed some so after cleaning it up I used a second set from a new package to give it another try. If they back out a second time I'll try Loctite 242.
  23. I've noticed the same thing since moving back to a plastic gun. While they seemed great in my CZ the 147's now feel a bit to sluggish to me so I decided to picked up some TG last week. With 124's I still prefer the SP if I were to run them again. As for the charge I increase it .10-.20 grains when using SP.
  24. I heard they revised the breach face for better ejection. All I know is my new fs gen 5 has zero issues with brass hitting the optic. My non fs gen 5 hit it a few times over the couple of matches I had the optic mounted to it and the gen 4 mos seemed to do it once every dozen rounds.
  25. It's hard to beat Jager for quality and ease of installation once captured. I used to like Wolff springs but they didn't work out with the Gen 5's due to the guide rod being a bit longer. I just couldn't get reliable lockup. With the ISMI springs I can still run the same weight spring or maybe one higher and get the same result as I did in my Gen 4.
