hceuterpe
I had awful results with HP-38. Velocity all over the map. Like 80+ velocity spreads ( metered with a charge master 1500 and all same headstamp). N320 got me down to single digit SD values.Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

jliew08
4.7gr of N320 with 180gr Blue Bullet. 1.185 OAL. Average Velocity yesterday was 958.3, PF of 172. Getting ready for Area 6! Note, my latest batch of Blue Bullets are all under 180gr, around 178gr, whereas my previous batch were usually over at about 181gr. Anyone else experience this? muncie21
4.5gr of N320 under a BBI 180gr TC bullet gets me an average FPS of 944, which is ~170PF. This is out of a G35 with factory barrel.

RAP
My friend who built my Limited gun suggested I start with VV N320 and WST powders for 180 grain cast HI TEK coated bullets. I settled on WST; I couldn't tell any difference in accuracy, feel of recoil, etc. I couldn't justify spending twice the $$ for VV N320 when WST worked just as well. B585
I know I wasn't the one who requested your chrono numbers, but thanks. That is very helpful. Edited May 13, 2017 by B585
RAP
I was hoping someone would find this useful. I loaded the same basic components and tested on two different days. I like testing my loads under different conditions throughout the year. I believe this gives me a more accurate picture of my load.
osw333
Thank you, this is very useful info. I need to get a Chrono soon. Anyone recommended a good accurate chrono without cost over $300?Sent from my SM-G935K using Tapatalk
armydad
I had a CED Millenium and it was a pain but I tolerated it until it went south on me. I recently purchased the Pro Chrono, as recommended by many folks on this forum, along with the bluetooth adapter. It's awesome! The combo is will within your budget and will serve you well. RAP
I used a Caldwell ballistic G2 chronograph to check the loads in the two earlier post. I bought the G2 while on sale, i believe it cost me $184. I also have an older Prochrono that worked very well for 18 plus years. I only bought the G2 because the Prochrono started having problems (stopped picking up my shots) and I liked the concept of the G2. I think either will serve you well, and both chronographs are in your budget.

Now try new powder it would be nice to know. I had eye on pro chrono, price is good, glad to know it's a good one. Thanks for the info. armydad
You bet. And the G2 looks good too but I've no experience with it. Even my Pro Chrono yields anomalies that are frustrating. I've spent the day developing various loads with great care. The plan is to chrono them tomorrow. Hopefully I'll learn a bunch but I'll learn something either way. I'll post my testing process and the results for all to see and comment under an new thread. If you don't see a post, I wasn't able to get to the range. It that's the case Friday will be my next opportunity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
osw333
Ok my load was good but my bullet is tumbling. MY cramp was 4.21 to 4.22, so i tried 4.23 and it was twice as bad. As yesterday i tried 4.20 and it fix the tumbling problem but now bullet speed from 970 down to 910. Is this pretty common? what is your cramp on 180gr? Thanks. jtrump
180g bayou @ 1.180 OAL 4.5g VVN320 out of my STI DVC limited was making 173PF. I could only get single digit deviations if I used the same manufacture of brass.. as you know the OAL floats a bit with mixed brass Edited August 20, 2017 by jtrump
